  • Rs Sr guard Precious Hall scored 46 pts for James Madison U. in a 2OT win over Rutgers 82-76, a school record. Hall scored 16 pts in extra time.

    Two University of Washington seniors, Kelsey Plum and Chantel Osahor currently lead national scoring and rebounding, with nearly 30 ppg and 15 rpg.

    • The new trio Napheesa Collier, K-L Samuelson and Gabby Williams led #1 UConn to victory over archrival Notre Dame 72-61, after a strong 2nd half. Williams scored a double-double 19 pts and 12 reb (+ 6 assists), Collier topped all scorers with 20 and Samuelson netted 16. Fielding just seven players, UConn only hit one three on nine attempts, but finished with a remarkable 25/47 FG2 and was nearly perfect from the FT line (19/20). Brianna Turner topped the Irish with 16 pts and 12 reb.

      Freshman F/C Tori McCoy was perfect in FG shooting (10/10), topping Ohio State with 25 pts in a rout of Southern, 108-73. Scoring 23, Buckeye jr Kelsey Mitchell reached 2,000 career points, the fastest ever in NCAA history, i.e. in just 79 games.

      • Monumental performance of soph C/F Kristine Anigwe, who scored 50 pts (on 83% FG shooting) for California win over Sacramento State, a school record for both men's and women's. She did it in just 24' of play, adding 14 rebounds, her fifth double-double of the season. California is now 8-0.

        Senior center Brionna Jones scored a career-high 30 pts on 14/16 FG shooting in Maryland rout of Saint Peter's 101-49. Terps record is now 10-0.

        • Baylor broke NCAA Div I winning margin record routing Winthrop 140-32.

          Coach Kim Mulkey rotated Lady Bears roster giving all players double-digit playing time, but Baylor ended the game with an impressive 29-0 Q4 shut out. Baylor also set school records in rebounds, assists and blocks, and finished with 61.1% FG shooting. Leading scorer Alexis Jones dnp, as she's still dealing wiht knee issues.

          • F/C freshman Ruthy Hebard, who played with U18 US national team, had a season-high 28 pts and 17 reb in Oregon's rout of Portland State 90-46. Hebard hit 12/13 FG and she currently leads the nation in FG shooting with over 80% accuracy.

            Junior F/C Emily Potter, from Canada, recorded her fifth double-double for undefeated but unranked Utah (10-0) in a 71-52 win over Weber State.

            In just her second game this season, Junior guard Chrishae Rowe led Ole Miss with 14 pts off the bench to a 77-57 win over VCU. A former Pac-12 freshman of the year at Oregon, Rowe transferred twice before landing at Ole Miss, where she made her debut last Wednesday against her first team Oregon.

            • UConn stayed unbeaten after winning over a strong Maryland team 87-81, tying Div. I record of 30 road wins.

              #2 Notre Dame was upset by unranked North Carolina State, 70-62. This defeat will surely affect Irish ranking, probably to the benefit of Baylor, easy winner of Kansas State.

              Soph Asia Durr scored a career-high 36 pts (with 7/12 3-pt shooting) to lead Louisville over Syracuse 91-76. Trailing by 7 at ht, Louisville rallied back with a strong 2nd half (58-37).

              • Non-conference season is virtually over and few teams are still unbeaten among the Top-25.

                Besides everybody's #1 UConn, surprising Mississippi State is 14-0 and #5 ranked. Bulldogs are led in scoring by jr guard Victoria Vivians.
                West Virginia, ranked #12, has already one conference game behind and is currently 13-0.
                Virginia Tech just ended a perfect non-conf season with a 13-0 record.
                California is 13-0 as well and has already scored one Pac-12 win. Super soph Kristine Anigwe is leading the team averaging double doubles in scoring and rebounding.

                Fireworks from national scoring leader Kelsey Plum who sparked #9 Washington (14-1) past Oregon with 44 pts. She now averages 30.5 ppg.

                • After early year games, three colleges among AP Top-25 are still unbeaten. Behind #1 UConn are #4 Mississippi State and #18 Virginia Tech. On top of the ranking, Baylor is now the runner-up while Notre Dame fell to #7.

                  • This is the first time in Virginia Tech athletic history that the women's and the men's basketball teams have both been ranked at the same time. The women moved up in the rankings after they stayed undefeated against UNC.

                    • UConn tied its own winning streak record of 90 trashing Sourh Florida 102-37. Huskies shot over 60% from the field and led 66-19 at ht. Six UConn players scored in double digits, led by senior guard Saniya Chong with 20. Freshman guard Crystal Dangerfield will sit out the next couple of weeks to recover from a foot injury.

                      Unranked Michigan State upset #11 Ohio State, as senior guard Tori Jankoska hit 42 points, breaking Spartan's single game and all-time scoring records.

                      • UConn and Mississippi State are the only undefeated among the ranked teams, after Virginia Tech fell at Miami.

                        Monster game of Maryland's senior center Brionna Jones with 42 points (and 14 reb) on 15/19 FG shooting. She could become a high pick at the WNBA draft.

                        • Senior guard Alexis Peterson scored a school record 45 points to lead Syracuse over North Carolina State, 85-75. Behind by 13 pts at the beginning of 2nd half, the Orange outscored the Wolfpack in the last quarter 31-13, behind 21 pts form Peterson.

                          More and more surprising Mississippi State (18-0) routed Florida 82-49 and soph center Teaira McCowan, who stands 2m (6-7), was nearly perfect in shooting going for 12/13 FG and 25 pts in 24'.

                          • Washington's Kelsey Plum surpassed the 3000 points mark after dropping 36 in yesterday's win over Arizona. She's now 11th in the All-time Div.I scoring list and is heading to reach a Top-5 position. Plum is the current national top scorer with 31 ppg.

                            • Katie Lou Samuelson scored a career-high 34 points, including 7 of 12 threes, to lead UConn to an easy win over Tulsa, 98-58. Huskies extended their consecutive wins record to 92.

                              • Three Italian players were fielded in ACC game, as Wake Forest edged Georgia Tech at OT 70-65. Fw Elisa Penna led Wake Forest with 18 points, while Yellow Jackets Francesca Pan and Antonia Peresson finished with 10 and 8 points. Sophomore Penna is Wake Forest current leading scorer. All have been members of various Italian junior national teams.
