have another look
this forum is not the women's game... hence the confusion. i found it under 2006 world championships...

yeah Kestas I thought the same when I first saw these and was going to post what you have posted. I then had a further look and I saw our ladies have not played i Olympics where some of the other teams have.
This is what has hurt our ranking the most..

anyways, I was looking at the combined rankings and wondered why do they sum up points from men and women rankings instead of summing up placings in both rankings. such ranking would show huge superiority by US over Spain in second, but it would probably be pretty fair.. but nevermind..

this one shows how much FIBA rewards the improving nations, while the consistency and the actual strength at the given moment are somewhat overlooked. Lithuania this year has repeated its 6th place result from 8 years ago (11th four years ago), it beat Argentina and Canada (Canada were a pathetic team in this tournament, simple as that), but they still dropped from 12 to 13th... behind Argentina and Canada. sure, everything's fair under the ranking rules (which are not too bad), but under these rules rankings seem to be unrecognized by the public at all..
and btw, it still includes Yugoslavia ............Tags: None
