Kentucky had a very lousy start against Morehead St. last night, but thanks to Archie Goodwin's career high 28 points and Alex Poythress scoring 20, Kentucky recovered to win 80-71.

Notre Dame just gave the reigning NCAA champions, Kentucky an old fashion Irish beat down. I thought it would be a close game as both teams love spreading it out.

After two horrible losses (one rout and an OT heart-breaker), Miami learned that Reggie Johnson will be out 6-8 weeks due to a left thumb fracture. It is a bad start in 2013 for any team. In those two losses, Johnson was out.

Michigan who are currently ranked #2 are 16-0. The other night, a shaky shooting threatened to blemish their record, but fortitude in the sense of making stops and nailing shots when it counted the most saved the Wolverines.

The Florida Gators have been mentioned as a possible Final Four team, Is the 2013 team more talented than 2007 team?

I could see the 2007 team shutting down the 2013 squad. Al Horford, Joakim Noah and Corey Brewer formed perhaps the greatest defensive front-court in college hoops. Patric Young, Erik Murphy and co will have trouble.

But the comparisons are unavoidable, but it does serve notice that Florida could be dangerous in March Madness.

Great all around game from Indiana's Victor Oladipo where a stat line of 21 points, seven rebounds, six steals and three blocks, was a major contributor to the win against Michigan State tonight. Hoosiers won, 75-70. Cody Zeller shot 2-9 and ended up with 9 points and 7 rebounds.

For Michigan, Gary Harris shrugged off the jeers from the crowd and fired 21 points.

Horford vs Young- In the Center Position Al Horford is better offensively but Patrick Young is a best defensively

Noah vs Murphy- Noah is a monster on defense and a rebounding machine while Murphy can shoot from the outside he is not soft in the defensive end he can rebound and block shot too.

Brewer vs Yeguette- Brewer is the best defender on the team, he can also shoot in the outside while yaguette idoes the dirty work, block shot rebound and creates turnover

Bonyton vs Humphrey- Humphrey is knockdown shooter but its Bonyton is the more talented offensive player.

Green vs Wilbekin- All time favorite Gator is Green, He can shoot from the outside and a great leader but Wilbekin might be the better player.

I'm placing my money on this 2013 team I think they will be this year National Champs..

Michigan is now #1 in AP college hoops ranking. It has been like two decades since the days of the Michi Fab Five of Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson since they were heralded as #1.

College basketball this year so unpredictable. No clear front-runner for national champions.
