  • NBA Players that Should be in Europe

    Hey everyone.

I had my first piece on SLAMOnline.com today about NBAers that would be better served in Europe. I've broken it up into 3 categories:

    1. NBA role players that could be stars in Europe

    2. NBA benchwarmers that could have expanded roles in Europe

    3. Older guys (30+) who could extend their careers by going to Europe for a couple more seasons' worth of good basketball.

Parts 2 and 3 will be coming out each of the next two Mondays, so read up and leave comments. Also, who did I leave out? And are there any suggestions for the next two editions? Thanks as always.

4 me there was one name on my mind and I'm actually surprised not 2 read that in your article: J.J. Redick. Many people in Europe find similarities in his game and in Trajan Langdon's and so do I.
There is also one more similar case, but since last season(mid-season actually) he can fit in your second category: Adam Morrison. I actually think we will c this guy in Europe eventually.
Finally, I can already imagine who will receive the next big offer from Olympiacos, if Childress decides 2 return 2 the NBA next summer, but I'm not sure whether I should say it now.

      LeBron?
The Euroleague Organization and Mr Bertomeu are like the Bulgarian Government: corrupt, partially stupid, and a huge underestimator of people's intelligence.

No, that has already been written. No information here, just a feeling, but if there is an offer 2 that player, I'm sure that certain things will b written and they will have 2 do with Wafer too.

edit: He doesn't belong in any of the 3 categories. He should b in the "NBA stars that would never go 2 Europe if it weren't for..." category.

              Jason Kidd
              Mike Bibby
              Kirk Hinrich
              Eddie House
              Michael Redd
              Eduardo Najera

+ All European players in NBA + most of the rest international players in NBA
Kidd and Redd r not role players. They are/were all-stars. Odom, Andre Miller and Bibby r also well-known players that could have a bigger role in other teams. Hinrich was a member of team USA in 2006. What I mean is that they could not fit in the "role players" category. Maybe Kidd could fit well in the over 30s category though.
When u say all european players in NBA, do u include the former "Lakers' dynamic duo" Sascha Vujacic and Vladimir Radmanovic? I wouldn't.

Sergio Rodríguez and Zaza Pachulia. And Wang Zhizhi if he was still there, I always wanted to see him in Europe.

Not europe but retirement. Kidd would hardly even be starting pg in Entente Orleanse. Exaggerated capabilities on Kidd from the general public.

                    Backup for Laurent Sciarra?

Ps: That Brandon Jennings [18.4PPG, 4.4APG] would dominate European basketball.

From US players Kapono, J. Jack, Redick, Morrison, M. Miller, House, Korver and evrey euro player not playing more than 20min or just bring back (Å )Ime Udoka to Zadar and Chucky Atkins to Cibona
                      Jordi Bertomeu sucks!

Yes, Kidd would be the third Pg in Entente Orleanaise in my viewpoint. Kidding aside, he would probably not fit in any top8 club in europe as a starting pg.

Eddie House could be a machine his quick release and ability to score points in bunches is unmatched by many.
Matt Bonner is the consummate team player and is so consistent and efficient that he would prosper in Europe, maybe later in his career.

                            Raymond Felton
He is a moderate success for the NBA but i think he has the tools to become a super version of mcintyre in europe and he is younger and taller too
Afaik oly made a proposal to him this summer but decided to stay in the NBA for now. I hope he changes his mind next summer he's free agent again
