LeBron imo still has not surpassed Kobe even though he is getting close. I believe that this won't happen until Lebron wins an NBA Championship.

The real leader for the last US Redeem Team, imo, was Dwayne Wade. He was the one playing with the most intensity in the games.

No, without Gasol in the mix I don't believe that the Lakers would have made it to the finals last year and they wouldn't be title contenders this year as well.

In my opinion, Lebron has not yet surpassed Kobe Bryant but I believe sooner or later he will eventually...

Talking about the 2008 USA Redeem Team... Lebron James was the leader of that team... he was the playmaker... he never shoots a lot and he was willing to give the spotlight and ball up to the other scorers ... in other word... he was the team player of that team... if the other scorers failed he steps up...

I don't understand why Kobe should be less hungry than Lebron for a ring. And the expressions like Lebron's eating himself for a title, and having sleepless nights thinking of it are just too much exaggeration.

I also think Wade was the leader of US team in the Olympics. Both LeBron and Kobe seemed like role players who stepped up in certain games, and one can give more credit to Kobe here than Lebron imo because of the final game.

Watching these kind of analyses on every aspect of the game, I truly wish we had similar programs/commentaries in Europe for EL. I think this is one of the reasons why NBA is still ahead when you consider the game in a larger perspective. An Europe basketball TV would be great.

I myself have no answer.
LeBron is so strong, so powerful, Kobe is skillful, so graceful.
But who is the better ?
Maybe Kobe is the better now and LeBron will be the BEST in the future?

But its good you're trying to keep the debate alive.. especially with the finals on the horizon and a potential Kobe vs. Lebron Finals: The Battle of Jordan Wannabes..

You know everybody is a winner on this debate or should I say, nobody is a winner...

I'd say Kobe based on experience and championship rings, and in my opinion, of all the 'Jordan Wannabes' out there, he is the closest we have to His Airness... but I'll have to pick Lebron is better than him simply because Lebron has always been carrying the team on his own... Kobe had to rely with his Big Men... those three championships (2000, 01, 02) will not be possible without the Big Shaqtus nor those finalists (2004, 08) finished without Shaq or Pau Gasol... Lebron, on the other hand, though he had the great Big Z, lead his team on his own to the finals (2004 and possibly this year 2009)...

Those guys you mention are Jordan Wannabes... people who does what Jordan does... high-flying one-on-one/one-man team machines who ignores the true fundamentals of the game... thats why in this forum, people prefer the EUROLEAGUE where team basketball and shooting are still well appreciated...
