  • Chinese fans/Yao fans complained & blamed NBA refs. because of Yao's commiting foul.

    Anent posting in youtube

    Who's pushing?

See, the arm & body contact with collision

Those who you are posting that in youtube, YOU ARE BLIND!

Fans thinks NBA officials to hate Yao, therefore many fans voted Yao for always playing in all-star game.
Whatta hell false basis of fans and we see a cleaned judgement call by referees. That people worst than people are complaining/supporting their politics.

    See!

Yao was stolen by New Zealander player and then in your face dunk over him. While Yao pushed a New Zealander player but the FIBA referees did not call unsportsmanlike foul. It should be possible made him a technical foul.

Almost every time I see Yao playing in the NBA he is treated horribly by the refs. He is fouled probably 20 times on every offensive possession. The refs just allow the other teams and players to maul and mug him endlessly and rarely do they call fouls.

Compared to how the refs treat Dirk, Manu, Duncan, Tony Parker, Iverson, Kobe, LeBron, Dwight Howard, Wade - those guys if the defender even looks at them wrong it is an automatic two free throws.

If the refs treated Yao the same way they treat Shaq he would average 30 points a game, if they treated him the same way they treat Wade, Dirk, and LeBron he would probably average 35 points a game.

Joel, I think you're right that Yao fouls a lot. It's the responsibility of big men to foul a lot because the guards must defend against shots (instead of shadowing their man on a drive). Unfortunately, I think Yao is the victim more times than the offender.

That seems to be what I see too (although you're obviously exagerrating). The refs assume that because Yao has the strongest legs in the NBA, he can take any hit. The same used to go for Shaq, although he got away with lots of calls himself.

You should've watched KG and the Celtics play against Atlanta last night. The referees practically gave the game to the Celtics, even letting KG double-dribble (easiest call in the game) in the 4th quarter five feet from the ref. It's the superstar system.

Still, Yao is so good that he might not even need those calls. He's the best center in the game even when he gets fouled.

Well, experience tells me that tall guys are always treated hardly by refs, and, even in the NBA with the best refs possible... No way a guy who is 10 cm taller than any other player will be treated better. If he makes a foul, everybody only sees him, while smaller people are nicer with the smaller who has to struggle not to be beat by the size of his match up.

In some games I played this year we had Two 2m+ guys, and at that level... It's like Yao in the NBA. The guys if they push a little are called for Offensive foul, if they get pushed, and then jump to block the shoot, they are called for a foul. It's natural, the smaller guys are having such a hard time getting over them, it seems they commit a foul.

Well, the Posey stuff seems to me a foul, despite the fact Poesy is doing a little too much, but it seems it's a theorical fool. After, you don't see anything on the videos, quality is too bad.

Are you saying that maybe the refs show favoritism to the small guys because people (including refs and myself) prefer to watch the small, "underdog" guys win?

No, I wouldn't say ref are volunteerly helping small guys...
They are always as fair as Donaghy could be.

They are fans, so I'm not surprised they are trying to show support for their player. There's fans who show support and there are fans who want to provide proof that he is getting favoritism with the refs.

There's so many Love and Hate videos with superstars, especially for Kobe...Wade...and Lebron James.

In Yao Ming's case, he isn't the only center who has received good calls and bad. Shaq is probably one of the more controversial centers that people always complained about whether not receiving fair treatment or receiving favoritism from the refs.
