    Team USA-White Players!

    Me (Filipino) and my best friend (African-American) always comes up with hypothetical fantasy basketball stuff.. This is one we've been talking about for some time...

    Even though they are many GREAT white basketball players (Dirk, Nash, Gasol, Kirelinko, Rudy Fernandez, etc..) none come from the United States. I'm not sure why but there aren't that many good American born white players these days. White players are being imported. Team USA consist of all African American Players during the past three Olympics as it should have because of talent.. Where are the GREAT white American players at? Swimming? Baseball? All of the ones that did great in college did not do GREAT in the pros or even FIBA overseas... The key word is GREAT!!!

    I know this seems to be about race but this is not about any race being superior than others or inferior or whatever.. because all of us know that there is not one race or ethnicity is superior in this game. It's about team work, playing, skills, etc. So PLEASE DO NOT turn this into something racist. It's not about that... I think it would be fun to see opinions on how this team would do or fair in the Olympics against other countries. Will these guys make Larry Bird proud???

    Keep it basketball talk.. Strenght Weakness or whatever! How would they do against the countries etc..

    Oh by the way they took a lost when Chris Kaman got naturalized by Germany! So he was replaced by Kevin Love!

      Love, Lee, and Miller are the best 3 on that list, imo.

        I think this team would be about the level of Greece in the Olympics and could definitely compete for a medal, although I can't see them beating Spain.

        The point guards are the strongest point of the team, although I don't know how "White Chocolate" would look in FIBA. It has some killer shooters, but I would also add Kyle Korver. Him, Kapono and Miller would just bombard opponents with three pointers. However, they need a better front line. Perhaps adding Tyler Hansbrough would help.

          Mark Madsen hasn't been good since Lakers and Ryan Bowen??? I would consider on the select or practice team!

            Love is unproven but he does have potential. We'll see how he does with Minnesota! Lee and Miller is legit talent but you forgot about Heinrich.

              Funny we actually had him there originally.. Who do you think Tyler Hansbrough can beat out of that 12 man roster??

              Also Korver.. Who do you think he can beat out?

                It's really hard to throw someone out, but I guess it would be Foster and Morrison.

                  Is it like a reverse of the redeem team? White coaches, black/brown players?

                      I'd say, this team has no defenders (maybe except Foster?). Not much chances for something big.

                        Interesting threat on what is considrered a taboo subject in America. At an early age, blacks tend to join basketball recreational leagues more so than any other sport. At my local youth recreational leagues, the U-6 allready is dominated by mostly back lineups. Most white kids join softball or soccer, or a host of other sports like roller hockey, ice hockey, gymnastics, swimming and skate parks. Belive it or not, but soccer/futbol is the 2nd most popular sport played by kids in recreational leagues in this country(only softball has participants), and beating basketball by 2 to 1 in terms of participants, and we got the women's gold medal to prove it!

                        Where is Tyler Hansbough in this lineup? and how about Keith Van Horn? Overall, I would say the listed would of lost to both Spain & Argentina, but probably beat Lithuania & Greece.

                              Keith Van Horn is pass his prime... Tyler is still too young MAYBE? Out of the 12 listed who's spot would he take?
