  • Houston Rockets Fans "In Europe The Rim Is Lower So The Players Can Dunk"

OK, I want everyone's thoughts on this. On the fan forum of the NBA team the Houston Rockets, they are talking about how come Luis Scola cannot dunk the ball in the NBA.

There are the typical American fan responses like "because they actually play defense in the NBA" or "he's no longer in a crap league like Euroleague" or whatever.

However there are a whole bunch of posts, from several people saying it is because "the rim is shorter in Euroleague than it is in the NBA so the players that cannot jump as high can actually dunk there". These are serious posts and they really BELIEVE this is true.

LMFAO there is literally no end to the level of ridiculousness that many of the American NBA fans have reached. I think they are suffering from an inferiority complex now big time. They have not won crap in 8 years in international basketball and are starting to realize they are no longer as good as they claim they are. They are overcompensating now at a ridiculous level.

"Scola can't dunk in the NBA like he could in Euroleague because of course in Euroleague the rim is not as high as it is in the NBA."

all NBA teams rim is regular at 10 ft, Araneta Coliseum at PBA is 10ft. I've been in Europe last-last past years I've seen less than 10ft a bit.. It looks like 9.8ft approximately..

I think you're caring too much about what some kids post on NBA boards.

I think in all the gyms used by the pros, all over the world, the rims are at regular height, 3m05 anyway. From NBA to N1, through EL or PBA.

I'll give this thread a chance in NBA forum.

              I've seen Scola dunk.

I'm gonna tell you something: A friend of mine once told me he's seem Tony Parker giving himself an alley-oop of the rim... Yes, he can dunk too, even in the NBA...
But, he won't do it too often.

                              Yes, but polemicate is fun...

Can you imagine Nash dunking? Someone found proof in any direction? Didn't manage to find anything...
