  • Nuggets score 168 points against Seattle

Tonight (Mar. 16) the Denver Nuggets hung 168 points on the Supersonics in a 168 to 116 regulation win.

When was the last time any one team scored 168 points in a regulation game?

When i was young i saw an NBA game between the Suns and Denver, i picked a good game to go to, think it was around the early 90's. The Suns scored over 100 in the first half.
At the time the Nuggets where playing a running game and just got punished at the other end. The Suns had guys like KJ and Tom Chambers at the time..

Sonics are worse than some clubs in ULEB Cup...

@Highlander: Most points in first halftime had Mavericks few years ago, 83 points.

Yeah, the Sonics are pretty bad, but the Nuggets had to do something good in order to get 168 points! That's impressive.
"I really like the attitudes of eagles. They never give up. When they grab a fish or something else, they never let it go. It doesn't matter. In a book, they write they find a skeleton of [an] eagle and there is no fish. It means that the fish beat him and killed him, but he didn't let go." -- Donatas Motiejunas

strange.. I thought I have posted a reply to this in the morning

anyways, it seems the percentages were not high at all in this game. they were ok, but nothing spectacullar. therefore I find the number of shots from the field even more amazing than the amount of points scored - 208 shots combined (and Seatle had 6 shots more!). majority of the shots were twopointers. and btw, look at the assists: 28 for Seatle and... 44 for Denver. That's insane. what kind of "deffensively minded" game is that? btw, to make it even stranger, it was Camby who outassisted everyone else on the field hands down
btw, NBA.com says 168 is a franchise record.

This was the game i saw in Phoenix..

107 by the Phoenix Suns vs. the Denver Nuggets on November 10, 1990

The good old days of Paul Westhead and Doug Moe produced some of the highest scoring games in NBA history. The Phoenix Suns scored 107 points in the first half of this run-n-gun game back in 1990. Most teams don't score 107 points in the entire season any more. The current iteration of the Suns are known for their running style, but even they only average 109 points per game (before Shaq slowed them to a crawl that is). With the emphasis on scoring and defense (concepts foreign to the Nuggets at the time), this record will likely never be challenged, barring the NBA's adoption of the MTV Rock N Jock 10 point basket.

And how many points did they score at the end?
              Just curious to know.
Because with 107 at HF, they should have reached at least 160 !
