  • Will Kobe receive this season's MVP?

Will the Laker's superstar finally receive his first ever MVP? Why or why not?

The Lakers have been in the top 4 in the wild, wild west for this season and have been consistent. The young superstar (whom I totally hate) is demonstrating his abilities as a leader, defender and offensive machine.

Is this the year he finally receives the greatest individual award? or is KING JAMES, CP3 and company will over throw him?

Do you think that T-Mac deserves to be in the top 3 candidates for this award?

No, Because T-MAC and the Rockets have a better record. So does KG's Celts.

I think the MVP will be either CP3 or LBJ though, as you mentioned.

LBJ. more all around and actually has a better image that NBA can use. as for greatness, I think kobe is the best offensive player right now but MVP isn't just scoring. so LBJ, IMHO, is still ahead of Kobe or CP3. not that much but still ahead.

TMac? his second has is great, but in the first half of the season, he wasn't that convincing...

T-Mac, LeBron, Kobe, KG, Paul. It's among these guys, I think..

I don't think he can win the MVP. He cannot get Lakers past the hump. He needs another superstar in Gasol to get the job done. Or an O'neal in their championship run.

Unlike King James or CP3 , where they can carry their respective teams.

yeah, but in the end they will give it to him because he never won it..and every game i watch the announcers keep saying

"kobe did not won the mvp ,this is a crime .. blah blah blah. The best player in the league the last 10 years and never won it blah blah blah" .

so they will probably give it to him this year ..i hope not, because i agree lebron and cp3 are playing fantastic basketball.

Also t-mac is playing fantastic in 2008 ..

I'm with you. I don't think a reporter can justify giving Kobe the MVP award when he has Lamar Odom and Pau Gasol on his team, in addition to Andrew Bynum playing so well at the start of the year. That's why I don't think Kevin Garnett should get it. You'd expect a team Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett to play out of their minds. Nevertheless, the choices now, for me, are:
                • LeBron James
                • Chris Paul
                • Manu Ginobili
                • Dirk Nowitzki
                • Kevin Garnett

                  Oh common guys...

Yes Lebron has a great season, but he s on a team that won t even reach 50 wins in the east. If the cavaliers were on the west, I highly doubt they would even make the play offs ( actually i m pretty sure they wouldn t , since you don t go this year to the play offs in the west with less than 50 wins, a number the cavaliers won t even reach in the east).

For me it s between kobe and paul. The thing is kobe is doing extremly well in the west ( 3rd in the west, was number one , 1 week ago).
And yes gasol helped him, but the lakers played 50 games WITHOUT gasol, and even some without bynum and still managed to be a top team in the west.

This achievment should be credited 100 percent to kobe, and thats why I think he deserves the MVP award

Well, for me, KB shall get it. He is the best player in one of the top teams in the West. He lead a team, adapted to get the team better, but when it comes to accelerate and get the game he still is the man.
Paul is doing great, but I'd place him behind T-Mac, who has done the things the same way kobe did. let your teammates play!!!

                    I don't like Paul's game anyway.

But, if someone in the East get the MVP... it's not fair. One team close to 50 wins may be out of the playoffs in the West. It just summarizes the level difference.

Don't be a Benedict Arnold, you traitor!!

Yeah, Kobe is a great player. Statistically, there are better players (LeBron for one). But Kobe has had better seasons (like last year) and he didn't win the MVP.

                        Down with Kobe!!

The Cavs are a NIT team, that completely disqualifies LeBron from MVP honors.

Besides Kobe, the other deserving player is CP3, please, dont come around here with NO!-witzki, Garnett, Nash and TMac bull-"defecation"

Matt, Lebron is very impressive, but he is playing like Kobe when this one was hated... Never give the ball, always dribbling.

Kobe is good everywhere now that he shares the ball. Even Fisher got leading scorer for a few games ^^.
