The 1953-54 NBA season were 9 teams in the league. 5 teams in each division was Eastern conference, the rule was 2 teams to qualify for playoffs and division finals berth and 4 teams in the Western conference. The New York Knicks was already 1st place in the Eastern conference record was 44-26 the nex are Boston Celtics and Syracuse Nationals were both 42-30 record. But the knicks 44-26 didn't qualified for playoffs and it's no.1 and why? Both Celtics and Nationals were 2-3 spot only to qualified?
