The best deal of the 2008. Los Angeles Lakers took him for nothing Claps for Kupchak.

Originally posted by dameloThat's a good news for Lakers... Once again since Bynum injured, kobe can miss a game. And when Bynum's back... Thy will probably have the best duet in the paint for all the NBA. So all the balls will have to go to the low post at first, and then to Kobe

Well, first game for lakers,
24points and 12 rebounds for Pau, leading scorer for Lakers was Fisher(28 points), Bryant was 6 points (3of13), 5 boards, 8 assists, 7 turnovers and 2 blocks.
It seems to fit right now...

Originally posted by JonarSabilanoAll right, then. What I was trying to say is that getting Gasol has put the Lakers in a position that will enable them to trade out Bynum without sacrificing inside play. I do hope that they don't do so, though. This is a pretty good lineup and shipping out Bynum will be counterproductive. Then again, LA is still Kobe's team.
Let's go a few years back when Kobe was No2 in L.A. He was evolving into a franchise player though and he would secure that the Lakers had a future after Shaq. Actually I think that if they hadn't traded O' Neal(meaning Shaq and Kobe could get along), they would still b title contenders every season. Bryant's presence in the team secured that they would have a star in the years 2 come and every team with a star is not doomed 2 say the least.
Now Bynum can have a similar role, especially with Gasol in the team. He will not b the leader Kobe is or Shaq was, but he has the potential 2 become one of the league's top centers. he is 9 years younger than Bryant and is improving year after year. As a fan of the Lakers I c him as the potential next star and the player that ensures that the team will not crash and burn after Kobe retires. I know he probably won't become the new O' Neal or Robinson, but he can become a star and given the fact that he is a C and centers r seldom 2 find, the Lakers can build a team around him and another star player.
Therefore, Bynum is the 3rd player in this team I wouldn't touch in any trade scenario(after Bryant of course and since Gasol just arrived).

Derek Fisher, Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum...
What a starting five, quite ok for the triangle offense...

Originally posted by JonarSabilanoI know. But wasn't Bynum the target of Kobe's "trade-me-or-else" histrionics during the off-season?
If they play Gasol at the 5, Bynum's minutes will be reduced. If they can get Gasol to play PF (which is his natural position), then well and good. A starting lineup with Gasol, Kobe, and Bynum will kick major *ss, just as long as Kobe doesn't take too many shots.
your point is not very clear mate..

personnally, I hope he won't take 28 shots agin this season... That's way too many, and Gasol will take back Bynum's shots inside. Then,
Derek Fisher, Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum...

I think Lakers will go farther in playoffs this year. Maybe it's time for kobe to shine, as he is getting more mature.
