Kidd wants to play with James in Cleveland

There was no migraine headache holding Jason Kidd out of the New Jersey Nets' loss to the New York Knicks Wednesday night, but a superstar sending a message to a floundering franchise that he's irate with management and teammates, several league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

As the Nets flew back to New Jersey late Tuesday from a victory over Cleveland, sources said Kidd had already decided that he would be sitting out against the Knicks in the Meadowlands. Kidd didn't tell Nets officials until Wednesday afternoon, but several people inside and outside the organization were made aware of the meaning behind his sick day.

Kidd’s agent, Jeff Schwartz isn’t believed to have formally demanded trade, but Wednesday’s bold act could be the precursor to starting that process. Two sources said that Kidd has been a constant text messaging partner with LeBron James since playing with him this summer on Team USA and the Cavaliers are his preferred destination.

“They’ve been communicating about the (trade) options that could get them together in Cleveland,” one Eastern Conference official said.

As one Nets official confessed, Kidd's absence due to a purported migraine was "very suspicious." No one wanted to believe he would sit out a game in protest, but that's how bad it has become between Kidd and the longtime laughingstock that he delivered credibility to. He has no history of migraines with the Nets, and with the way he has traditionally loved to destroy the Knicks, the timing of a walkout left Nets officials deeply disturbed.

In an act of defiance that has been building for most of this season, Kidd, 34, has grown irritated over his belief that the franchise is no longer chasing greatness while his chance for a championship closes. He called out his teammates two weeks ago in Utah, just days after his bid for a contract extension was spurned by team president Rod Thorn. Right now, the Nets are 9-10 and going nowhere.

Thorn has praised Kidd for a "football player's" mentality when it comes to playing hurt, but the point guard is privately wondering how much more he wants to sacrifice his body for a team mired in mediocrity. So far this season, Kidd has played brilliantly for the Nets, second to Steve Nash with 10.4 assists. He performed with cracked ribs and a bad back a year ago, pushing the Nets past the Toronto Raptors in the opening round of the playoffs by averaging a triple-double.

Yet, Kidd has been frustrated with some of his teammates' inability to stay on the floor and play through pain, especially Vince Carter. These days, everything about the Nets bothers Kidd. Everyone had to wonder Wednesday night: Could this have been the beginning of the end for Jason Kidd and the New Jersey Nets?

This is a great news for the Cavaliers, who really missed the service of Lebron James in our starting lineup after suffering 4 consecutive defeat in the regular season since Bron was sidelined with sprained index finger.

I hope this trade happens, and maybe this would be a sign that Mike Brown will soon be fired as the headcoach of the Cleveland Cavaliers because the Cavs fan have enough of seeing Mike Brown made some bad decisions that cause us games in the playoffs, and regular season.

Jason Kidd has been one of the best PG in the history of the NBA, and i am really happy if they can finalized this deal as soon as possible because i would like to see Kidd paired with Lebron, and prove to the doubters that the Cavaliers can still bounce back, and regain the supremacy in the Eastern Conference.

    Cavaliers starting 5

    G- Jason Kidd
    G- Daniel Gibson
    F- Lebron James
    F- Drew Gooden
    C- Zydrunas Ilgauskas

Head Coach: Jason Kidd ( playing coach)
    Asst.Coach: Mike Brown

    Cavs trade:
Larry Hughes, Anderson Varejao, future 1st round pick, and Eric Snow.

Obviously I would love to have Jason Kidd on our team. He'd put us on the top, top, top. But I think New Jersey would be crazy to trade him.

I mean, NJ is going to want good players in return. What can we offer? Gooden? Z? I think it would take a lot of future draft picks to do this, but I don't want to sacrifice anybody from our front court...

In a book, they write they find a skeleton of [an] eagle and there is no fish. It means that the fish beat him and killed him, but he didn't let go." -- Donatas Motiejunas

I respect Jason Kidd. He's always been a good soldier on the court, though I can understand why he is frustrated, I never endore these type of moves unless something truly terrible done by management comes to light. Even then, I don't know.

          That was just a migraine...

          Migraine benched Kidd
Guard scoffs at rumor he wanted trade from Nets

          By TOM CANAVAN
          THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Jason Kidd insisted a migraine caused him to miss a New Jersey Nets game, brushing aside reports he was staging a personal one-day strike to induce a trade or force a new contract.

"I didn't miss a game due to unhappiness, that's the first thing to clear up," the All-Star guard said Thursday at a news conference he called at the Nets' headquarters.

Kidd said he was hit in the mouth Tuesday night in a game against Cleveland, and he later developed a migraine. He alerted trainer Tim Walsh about the problem Wednesday about noon, and he later called and said he could not play against the New York Knicks. The Nets lost 100-93.

"I am human, at the end of the day, I am human," said Kidd, who didn't seem angry with all the attention the reports created. "I went out and played with one leg. I played with a broken rib and yesterday, I just couldn't go. There was no plan of me not going. I felt that I couldn't help the team."

Kidd's unexpected absence created instant headlines.

A source told the New York Post that Kidd was "on strike." Yahoo reported that he was looking to be traded to Cleveland to play with LeBron James. There also were reports that Kidd wanted his contract renegotiated.

Kidd said he learned of the fuss after receiving a telephone call from his mother.

He insisted he never asked to be traded, noting recent comments he made about playing with James and Kobe Bryant were just no-brainer answers to questions posed about whether he would like to play with them at some point.

"I am having one of my best seasons," Kidd said. "Why would I want to be asked to be traded? And as a team (9-10) we are doing better than last year."

Kidd is under contract through the end of next season, making $19.7 million this year and $21.3 million next. He and Nets president Rod Thorn refused to discuss any contract talks.

"I'm not upset," said Kidd, who was the subject of trade rumors involving the Los Angeles Lakers in February. "Everything has been taken out of context. I was sick yesterday and I couldn't play. Everyone has come up with their own theory of me being upset."

Even if Kidd were upset, he could not come out and say it. The team could fine him for deliberately missing a game, a penalty that would cost him $240,585.37, his game-day salary.

"I would never abuse the game of basketball," Kidd said.

Thorn had no reason to doubt Kidd, adding he would not desert his teammates to make a point.

"He was sick," Thorn said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. "He was very hurt about some of the things in some of the articles."

Kidd said he watched the game in a dark room at home Wednesday night and then went to bed.

He still had a headache Thursday. He hoped to play here Friday against the Houston Rockets.

***And Number 5? I always wanted him to play for New Jersey. How many Players do we need to involve? 7(seven)? to be in NJ. It would be very difficult for JK to be in Cleveland.

            Blah...

Cleveland has no anything special to supply to Nets... Or they have?

It is much better for Cavs to wait the end of the season, when will expire a few unreasonable and expensive contracts, and then sign an quality, usefull player.

And J. Kidd is going to organise press conference and he is going to denie all of those rumors.
