I like to know why do American players dominate the Russian Super league? they got the 7 top scorer's. and I've asked basketball friends here in the U.S. who is JR Holden? or at least where did he play college ball, but no one's ever heard of him.
Why did'nt Lampe play for the Poland National team at the Euro's this year? They had a solid backcourt, espicially with Pluta being a standout, and a decent small fwd in Wojcik. Havinng a good big man like Lampe would of sold the pieces to the puzzle and make them advance to the latter stages of the tournemnt.

By the way I also recognize Lee Nailon among the league leaders in the Russian League because he last played for the Cavaliers in the 2003-04 NBA Season.

It looks like he is also doing a great job playing overseas, and Nailon holds NBA career averages of 8.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, t

NBA... This is worst thing what could happen to this kind european player. NBA is commercials and nothing more. He will be doomed if he go to NBA.

Lampe made good move, because he want/he must play and not spent all time on bench (look now what is with Marcin Gortat)! Khimky is for him very good team, and if you didint know before injury he was team leader!!!

I think that after this two years, he can again try to get in to NBA He have very big chances !!!

He might pull an Anthony Parker type of performance, and teams would probably offered him a long term contract if he will remain productive for the rest of the season.

Here are his current stats in the Russian League

    15.8 PPG, 8.9 RPG

Speaking of Maciej Lampe maybe he should try out to some other teams in the league because he is only 22 yrs.old, and I am sure there are plenty of chances that NBA teams would probably signed him up to give some additional improvement to their frontline.

I can see him coming back at age 22-25 yrs.old and helping out some team in the NBA.

Lampe is supposed to earn around 2.5million $ /season, and has a contract for 2 years.
So as u can understand he will only leave for a better offer. (well maybe if Cleveland was willing to pay him 5 million for that 10-day tryout, he would think about it - just kidding man )

He will probably spend the next years in Europe developing his game and becoming into an even better player, and then, depending of the feeling he has towards the NBA (after being "expulsed" from it once), he will consider returning to the NBA or staying in Europe.

I think the Cavaliers or any other teams in the Eastern Conference can offered him a 10 day contract, and let see if he actually show some decent improvement in his overall game. He is still a good player IMO, and he just did not get enough playing time during his brief stint in the league.

    10 day contract?

This kid is one of the best BigMen in russian league. His pocket is full of $, so why he should sign a 10 contract?

Lampe is/was one of the best BigMen talents in europe. For many he was a lotterypick, when he declared to enter the draft. But the situation about his contract with his team then (Real Madrid) was not clear, so he dropped down to late 1st round or at the begining of 2nd. I don´t know it now exactly and i am lazy to check it up.

I hope he will stay for another 4-5 years in europe, and then perhaps try it again in the NBA.

He plays for Khimki. He is injured. European players are not disposable diapers nor slaves to sign 10 days hunger contracts.

There is life and basketball across the Atlantic too you know...

Lampe will be playing in the ULEB Cup and signed a one-year deal with Dynamo St. Petersburg. The bankrupt Dynamo squad were thrown out of the Russian League one day before the start of the season. Thus, making Maciej play for the BC Khimki Moscow region.

In February 2007, he was named the best player (MVP) in the Russian league
