  • Boston Celtics Thread

    it might happen this time.

ray allen has been hittin' the gym at 8:00 am since rondo, whom ray allen is tutorin', started to come to the gym at 7:30 to be ready before allen arrives. then allen started to come at the same time with rondo in order give him the intense personal training he promised.

    Let's see...

Kevin Garnett still has two years left on his contract, Paul Pierce has been granted a 4 year contract and Ray Allen has been granted a 2 year contract. Rajon Rondo is the best hustling point guard on the NBA, Big Baby Glen Davis will be better presumably after his play on the finals. Jermaine O'neal is reportedly signing an MLE and Tony Allen likely to sign a 3 year contract.

The core of the 2010 Celtics are in place, minus Rasheed Wallace. They could get another run but the looming threat is the Miami Heat with a Big Three on their own with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.

    Stay classy Beantown.

It is reported that the Celtics are pursuing Jermaine O'neal in an MLE offer as Perkins will be out until December (Timetable of return) time for the Celtics to fill in the C spot with a rebounding presence such as J.O. or Jamal Magloire.

So much for the Shelden "The Shield" Williams experiment.

I would like the Celtics to take in consideration Luke Harangody formerly of Notre Dame. Harangody was the best player for the Celtics during the Orlando Summer League. Harangody can be the younger and more athletic version of Brian Scalabrine as Harangody can rebound and has the touch from beyond the arc as well as a nice catch and shoot game from the perimeter.

Free Agent center Jermaine O'neal is inclining to sign with the Celtics on a Mid Level Exception. The deal will be finalized in a week.
JO will start at center since Perkins is out until December, presumably his time table of return.

              From NBA.com

"The Celtics wanted to re-sign Allen, but were unwilling to give him a third guaranteed year. The most Boston offered was a two-year, $5.2 million offer, with a partial guaranteed third year. At that point the 28-year-old Allen decided to entertain the Memphis offer, which has no partial guarantees or team options. The Grizzlies like the toughness that Allen is expected to bring to Memphis as a reserve behind guard O.J. Mayo and small forward Rudy Gay, who agreed to an $82 million deal earlier this month.

Yahoo! Sports first reported Allen's deal with Memphis."

They might lose T Allen to Memphis.

Indeed the Celtics now are without Tony Allen as the latter had been nabbed by the Grizzlies.

Former New Jersey Nets Head Coach Lawrence Frank had been named Assistant Coach by the Boston Celtics organization.

Frank could be the new Head Coach of the Boston Celtics next season when Doc Rivers vacates the position.

Frank is a HEAD coach material. Too bad other teams did not want his services. But is CK said being behind Rivers is not at all bad since he can be the head coach eventually.

The thread has the title Boston Celtics and logic dictates that we post all relevant Celtics discussion HERE. eventually if we post enough and update enough this thread will be renamed as Boston Celtics 2010-2011 rather than create a new thread and thus contributing to the info-load of the forum/site.

Doc Rivers told the press that Nate Robinson is assured of being on the rotation on the next season and perhaps the playoffs. Must one of the reason why Nate Robinson was waiting for the Celtics offer rather than test the waters of the free agent market. It can be remembered that Nate Robinson had a significant fall-out on the New York Knicks rotation under Mike D'Antoni.

                              Grand Theft Rondo

                              As Marc Jackson had aired:

Probably referring to Rajon Rondo's thuggish (In a good way) hustle and Rondo did lead the league in steals and most of those memorable steals were on the Eastern Conference Finals against Orlando and the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.
