  • Sixth man who can be a starter in the NBA

Every year there are players that start on the bench but they suddenly explode ( sometimes when the Starter gets injured) Rookies that prove to be worthy, Veterans that suddenly get a second wind, underachievers that suddenly become a blossom players that are traded to a new team with better competition for the amount of playing time.

Which players do you see making the leap and becoming starters?

RODNEY CARNEY: its a joke that he isnt already, Korver can shoot, shoot and shoot, but nothing else, Carney is more complete, only doubt if Thaddeus Young will show some flash as a Rookie that he might be the one stepping out instead of Carney.

JASION MAXIEL: has evolved and improved every year they really have a problem at the center spot and Rasheed may have to take that Position wich would lead the way for Jason to Start. Maxiell might be undersize at the PF position but he is eager to sacrifice his body by getting the rebounds using his size and heft.

KAREEM RUSH: I never understand why the lakers parted with him or why the Bobcats cut him, he did some phenomenal game in the playoffs with the laker, he can score and defend, he has matured overseas, so as granger will take the SF spot over DUnleavy i can CLEARLY picture RUsh defeating Daniels for the SG spot.

ACIE LAW: Lue is a good player from the bench and CLaxton is the eternal promise that never achieves potential so, after two or three months of adjustment he will be Starting.

J J REDDICK: last year he underachieved, but he still is one of the best pure shooters in the game, and this year this Blue Chipper will emerge as one of the up and coming players in the NBA.

CHANNING FRYE: last year was not a kind one for him, but he is one of the most promising PF, and Aldridge is more a C than a PF and less NBA ready, so i think FRye will win this match. Base on the Portland Trailblazers report they are planning to start Frye in the middle of the season if Oden will not be a huge impact in the game.

DAMIEN WILKINS: Green, Durant, SCerbiak, all of them are pure OFFENSE, they need someone to BALANCE, Wilkins is the D man for the Job.

MARCO BENILLENI: Yes Ellis has shocked some people, but essentialy has reach his Ceilling, Bellinelli may not be so athletic and so spectacular but has more SOLID Fundamentals and will eventually take over him.

Leandrinho BARBOSA: he is better than bell even a baby can see that. Beside his stock will rise due to the fact that he is leading Brazil in the on going FIBA Basketball Tournament averaging 27.6 PPG.

ANDREW BYNUM: i hope at least he can go on developing and produce something like 14/8, Mihm is Coming back form injury and kwame, well its kwame so i bet he ends up starting. If Bynum wants to be the future of the LA LAKERS he must show some hunger and desire to play basketball. Bynum is in his 3rd yr. in the NBA and this might be his breakout season.

Daniel Gibson- after coming off the bench from most of last year and exploding in the playoffs. I predict that he will be the starting PG of our team next season which means that Larry Hughes will be elevated playing the number 2 position which is basically good for our team. Enough of the Larry Hughes for PG experiment because it only devaluate his scoring ability.

Aaron Brook- one of my darkhorse candidate for NBA Rookie of the Year being 5'10 1/2 he prove in the summer league that he can play with the big boys in the NBA. He lead his team in scoring and have one of the best play in the Summer League.

Mardy Collins- He show some flash last year at the end of the regular season almost averaging a triple double in the last 9 games of the season. I think that he will surely be a better fit than the aging Stephon Marbury because of his defense and one of the most hardworking player in the league.

Barbosa could start on about 95% of the NBA teams. But he plays behind Steve Nash and even though he is more of a shooting guard, they are not going to play him over Bell because Bell can shoot and plays defense really well.

Also it is important for him to come off the bench for Nash and run the point because he can push the ball as much as Nash so they can always play their run and shoot style.

I was hoping he'd leave the Suns though lol, as a Laker fan he just kills us and I wanted to see him start somewhere.

Amir Johnson could also be a candidate in the pistons starting lineup, he showed strengths in rebounding and inside scoring last season.

Morris Almond may become the top shooting guard of the jazz because last season they lacked consistent outside shooters and I think he'll be that player because of his offensive skills and his willingness to play for Sloan's system. I think he would start the season coming off the bench but I think once he starts shooting many baskets, he'll be the consistent starter in the off guard position the Jazz never had in years.

Linas Kleiza could complement the overflow of talent in Denver because of his hustles and suprising outside shooting, he could start as the small or power forward because I think he offers more than Najera and if Iverson starts as point guard. Moreover, I think that Kleiza would have to fight with Diawara in the starting position and it'll be his outside shooting that would be make him a starter because Diawara struggled last season

I totally agree with Redick becoming starter. I was dissapointed with Brian Hill that he gave Redick little minutes. If Redick reached #14 in the draft, the jazz could have enjoyed more three point field goals iduring the playoffs. Now that the magic have stan van gundy, I think it'll be a break out season for Redick.

Daniel Gibson would really be a starter because he has proven that he could provide Lebron some space on the floor through his outside shooting and that the cavs have few players that complements Lebron's game.

Walter Hermann has good field goal percentage last season and I think he's very efficient when on the floor. He could start as a power forward and stretch the floor for gerald wallace and jason richardson to be able to penetrate to the basket.

I see Tarence Kinsey and Darko Millicic as starters mainly because for Kinsey, he's a suprising scorer that complements the game of Gasol and Gay. Millicic is itching to prove that he's not a draft bust and I think his confidence is starting to comeback which has somehow evident during the playoffs.

Daniel Gibson will definitely make a nice starter for the Cavs at one point or another this season.

LeMarcus Aldridge could also become a source of scoring, as well as major rebounds and blocks, since Oden will draw more attention from the opponents, giving Aldridge the opportunity to come from the weak side and do enormous things.

Marcus Williams could become a starter for the Nets if Kid is injured. He's already a solid PG/SG and can only improve.

One of my bets is that Travis Diener will take over Jamaal Tinsley's starting job at some point of this season. He's got brilliant 3pt shot and is distributing the ball well, while Tinsley is trouble both physically and off the court.

Gibson and LaMarcus Alridge are the ones that stand out.
