VCMVP1551, Check this picture out if Thomas is measured at 6'7.25" it means that Ben Wallace is shorter than 6'7". Just compare their shoulders and you can actually see that Thomas is taller than Ben. I estimate Ben Wallace at 6'5.75"

Wallace hair can be pretty well deceptive. So, VC how do you estimate Wallace barefeet height???

    7'1 Shaquille O'Neal and 6'6" Penny Hardaway

6'6.25" Carmelo Anthony and 5'10" Allen Iverson

Dirk Nowitzki 6'10" and Josh Howard 6'5 1/4"

I find this 1998 Draft Article describing the game of Dirk Nowitzki after the Milwaukee Bucks drafted him and traded him to the Dallas Mavericks for Tractor Traylor.

He was first noticed by the NBA world when a team of American pro stars, including Scottie Pippen, Jason Kidd, Gary Payton and Charles Barkley, came to Germany and played an exhibition game against a German national youth team in September 1997. During the game, Nowitzki dunked over Charles Barkley. Barkley saw a future superstar in the gangly German teenager and later admitted to offering to pay him "any amount of money he wanted if he would come to his alma mater, Auburn."

Nowitzki did not truly gain international attention, however, until the March 1998 Nike Hoop Summit in San Antonio, Texas, where he notched 33 points and 14 rebounds to lead a team of international juniors to a surprise victory over a U.S. junior team.
            9 - Milwaukee Bucks - Dirk Nowitzki - Wertzburg Germany -

6'10" 235lbs. Scout called him a Porsche and said Shrempf is a VW compared to him? . 28.5 points, 9.8 rebounds in Germany. I hate to see a kraut like this do well, but he looks like he can really play. The only question is whether he is soft or not (i.e. Kukoc). Hell of a shooter and only 19.

Dirk Nowitzki is the greatest European player to ever played in the NBA.

            1st Round (9): MILWAUKEE BUCKS
Traded along with Pat Garrity (19th pick) to DALLAS MAVERICKS for the rights of Robert Traylor (6th pick).

DJK Wurzburg (GERMANY)Position: Small Forward/Power Forward
            Height. 6-10
            Weight. 235
            High School:
            Age: 20

            # MVP of the Nike Hoop Summitt game in San Antonio in March, scored 33 points
            # Played Second Division in Germany this past season
            # DJK will play in Germany's First Division next season
            # Averaged 28.5 ppg and 9.8 rebounds
            # Shot 56% from the floor and 76% from the line
            # In 1996-97 season averaged 19.4 ppg and 6.4 rebounds
            # Member of the German National Junior Team in 1996
            # European Junior Select Team in 1996
            # German Under 22 national team in 1996

Dirk Nowitzki is officially confirmed at a legit 6'10" and not thet 7'0 listing in the NBA Website.

              Some more pre-draft measurements.

              Ben Wallace- 6'7"

Ever wonder how teams missed Ben Wallace? I did. From what I can tell it was fairly simple. Wallace measured at 6'7 in pre-draft workouts.
              http://www.82games.com/trueheight.htm

              Shaquille O'Neal 7'1" Tom Gugliotta 6'9.5"

To no one's surprise, the Orlando Magic took the 7-foot-1, 303-pound O'Neal with the first pick of tonight's NBA draft.
In the end, the Bullets were more impressed with Gugliotta's all-around game at 6-9 1/2 than that of Williams
Most of us aren't 7-feet- 1 and 303 pounds, but try these thoughts on for size anyway and see if you could bear them.

              http://nl.newsbank.com/nl-search/we/Archives?p_product=PBPB&p_theme=pbpb&p_action=sear ch&p_maxdocs=200&p_topdoc=1&p_text_direct-0=0EAF8549AB215E02&p_field_direct-0=document_id&p_perpage=10&p_sort=YMD_date&s_trackval=GooglePM

              Scottie Pippen- 6'7.5"

              "Scottie Pippen is 6-7 1/2, 212 pounds
Dikembe Mutombo 7'1" Larry Johnson 6'5.5"

Georgetown's Dikembe Mutombo measured out at 7 feet 1 in his stocking feet. UNLV all-American forward Larry Johnson said he was 6-6, but the actual measurement was 6-5 1/2.

              Andrew Bynum- 7'0.25"(grown to 7'1")

Bynum was quite possibly the biggest snub for the physicals at the Chicago Pre-Draft Camp, but has really put up some impressive numbers for a player of his size in his private workouts. “I measured out at 7’0 ¼ barefoot, I have a 7’6 wingspan, I have a 37 inch vertical off of one step and a 33 inch vertical from a standstill.” Andrew went on to say “I was never put on the bench for the bench press, so I’m not sure what my exact numbers are. I do know that my standing reach was 9’3 or 9’4.”
Talk about upside: Lakers rookie C Andrew Bynum was 7-0 on draft day. Last week, the Lakers measured him at 7-1, and now doctors expect him to top out at 7-2
Bynum won't turn 19 until Oct. 27, and his body still is developing, but he has grown an inch to 7-foot-1 and has the long arms to be a good shot-blocker.

Kevin Garnett- 6'11"(Now claims '6-11 and some quarters) so 6'11.75" now
              5. MINNESOTA-Kevin Garnett, Chicago Farragut Academy. They're trying to dump Christian Laettner and J.R. Rider. This 18-year-old is talented, 6 feet 11 in stocking feet and seems a great cornerstone for a rebuilding project. Says one personnel director, "You could make a case for him going No. 1."

BTW Dirk was listed as 212 cm by FIBA which is 6'11.5"

Here an interview with Kevin Garnett he says his height as "6-11 and some quarters"

Kevin Garnett: I'm 6-11 First Off. First off I'm 6-11
                Craig Sager: Yeah but
those sneakers make you 7 foot
Kevin Garnett: Right right....I'm 6-11 and some
                quarters
                http://youtube.com/watch?v=PRIm4_yvocc

So KG himself says 6-11 3/4. No reason to lie.

Garnett, who so fears being edged into the paint as a center that he refers
to his 7'0" height as "6'12"," is a true 3 who slid out of the blocks when the
Minnesota Timber wolves re-signed Joe Smith.

Shaq confirms his height as 7'1" in an article in the Boston Globe- 12/6/92

                "I'm 7 feet 1 inch, 300 pounds. If I were a fan, I'd expect 20 points and 15
                rebounds every night."
Shaq confirms his height as 7'1" at the 0:16 mark of the video below

                http://youtube.com/watch?v=qvr7QlkVWDc

Dikembe Mutombo is 7'1" while Larry Johnson is 6'5.5"

Georgetown's Dikembe Mutombo measured out at 7 feet 1 in his stocking feet. UNLV all-American forward Larry Johnson said he was 6-6, but the actual measurement was 6-5 1/2.

"Ain't that pitiful?" Johnson said. "You don't go out there with your shoes off. Ain't that right?"
Kobe bryant confirmed at 6-4 3/4

Upon meeting Bryant two Fridays ago, O'Neal Mitchell of Tenaha, Texas, surmised that Bryant wasn't as tall as advertised. Bryant, listed at 6-foot-7 when he entered the NBA and now listed at 6-6 (without the Afro, apparently), came clean with a grin: "I'm probably 6-5 in sneaks."

Bryant's wife, Vanessa, was there and had prodded him by saying she suspected the same thing — and measured her husband at home one day at 6-4 3/4.

Tyson Chandler grew since he entered the league at 6'11.5"

Q: I have to be honest. When you're wearing the Hornets' yellow uniforms, you look taller to me. Have you grown since last season?

A: I've been growing since I've been in the league. You're not the first person to tell me that. But I'm not even going to measure myself. I don't even want to know. I'm[listed at] 7-1. I'm going to leave it there.

Big Ben confirms his height as 6'7"

                "I'm small. I'm 6'6"/ 6'7"," admitted Wallace.
                http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=6054

Though Wallace is listed as a 6-foot-9, 240-pound center, he said he's really 6-7, making his respectable matchups with O'Neal even more impressive because he gives up six inches and about 100 pounds.
