in all honesty some are for emdical reasons some because they think its cool and it makes them unusual/unique. i mean if it sets u apart as an individual and u are a person who is a good shooter more attention is noticed. example back in the haydays of my university gym when i played pickuyp ball i was one fo the few who wore headbands. they knew my defense was good not because they knew me but because the headband was a sign of empending danger to their weak offensive game, know what im saying
