    I read that they made the pick because Beverley is a free agent and they figure Teodosic goes back to Europe at some point. It can never hurt to develop a young kid behind your older players but yeah like you said Doc isn't known for doing that. I do know they tried to offer both their lottery picks plus Tobias Harris for Kawhi and the Spurs didn't bite so I guess they figured they'd better get at least one player they see as having a high upside.

      Overall, as much as I am sceptic about Ayton becoming an all-NBA player, Phoenix still won the draft with Bridges and Okobo. They got 3 players I'd realisticaly expect to be in the rotation long term and could develop into something more than that.

      I expected Loonie Walker to be drafted earlier than 18th, no idea why he dropped there, but good pick by the Spurs.
