  • Nba season 1/3 of the way in.

With the NBA season now about 1/3 of the way in here are some of my observations.

The Celtics at 22-5 along with the Pacers at 15-11 are my biggest pleasant surprises. We all expected the Celtics to be good but with the loss of Gordon Hayward only minutes into the season they have been great including an incredible winning streak. I think Brad Stevens continues to show that he’s probably the best coach in the league. The Pacers at 15-11 have also been a surprise as the additions of Oladipo and Sabonis have negated the loss of Paul George and have made them a better team at least so far.

The biggest disappointment is obvious in the losing record Oklahoma City Thunder who thus far are on the outside looking in when it comes to the Western Conference playoffs. The big three has not worked so far and it leads one to think that with Westbrook not being a true point guard but rather a scoring one this experiment might be doomed to fail.

Four players have stood out to me as MVP candidates so far and I would rank them accordingly.
1- James Harden, 2- LeBron James. 3- Giannis and 4- Kyrie Irving.

And finally my all NBA teams so far.

    1st
Irving, Harden, LeBron, Giannis, and Joel Embid

    2nd
Curry, Oladipo, Durant, Porzingis, LaMarcus Aldridge

Biggest surprise for me is Boston in the east, Spurs in the west, well both teams are expected to be good but they are both way above expectations
Biggest dissapointment for me is Minnesota, Thibs is absolutley awful coach this team has so much potentional and talent, now they got Butler and Teague and Thibodeau is riding them to death 40+ minutes a game, its just matter of time untill someone gets injued on that team also KAT and Wiggins didnt improve at all this season under Thibodeau, idk i expected them to destroy everyone but instead they are having hard time even versus some bottom feeders

To me the biggest surprises record-wise are Boston and Indiana. I knew they would both be good but I didn't expect them to be this good this soon record-wise.

Biggest surprises as far as players go are Tobias Harris and Hardaway Jr. Aldridge too but we'll he's been doing it his whole career. Tobias is a borderline All-Star right now.

Biggest disappointments are Memphis and Charlotte. Memphis has somewhat of an excuse given the loss of long-time players Vince, Tony Allen, and Z-Bo but Charlotte has improved yet are well below .500. Just terrible.
