Heat trade Josh McRoberts and a 2023 second rounder to the Mavs for 2016 2nd round pick AJ Hammons. Hammons is an incredibly skilled, underrated big man who Dallas was stupid not to play last year. I'm not sure he has the toughness necessary for the Eastern Conference though.

Apparently Jamal Crawford intends to sign with Minnesota when he clears waivers. What a difference one move can make.

Toronto trades DeMarre Carroll to Brooklyn along with a lottery-protected first round pick and second round pick for Justin Hamilton. Carroll belongs on a contender.

They also plan to trade Corey Joseph to Indiana for CJ Miles after Miles signs a 3 year, $25 million deal with the last year a player option.

Wow. All of that for Justin Hamilton?

Must be a cap saving move...

Lol. Yeah seems to be to create the space to sign CJ Miles and other guys.

James Harden signs the richest extension in basketball history. Time will tell whether or not this was a mistake by the Rockets but they kind of had to.

Alan Williams re-signs with Phoenix on a 3 year, $17 million deal. Good for him. That kid earned it.

Still waiting on the Simmons, Rose, and Ian Clark shoes to drop.

KCP to the Lakers on a one year, $18 million deal. This really seems like a mistake by all parties involved.

DeWayne Dedmon to Atlanta on a two-year deal for $14 million with the second year being a player option. Great signing and a great opportunity for Dedmon. Can this and Diamond Stone save the Hawks' season? Time will tell. But don't sleep on it.

BIG news today: The NBA has apparently agreed to move the trade deadline to two weeks before the All-Star Break.

                    • In other news.... Thabo to Utah for two years and $10.5 million. Great pickup for a young team on the rise.

Lakers have requested waivers on David Nwaba. Now this pisses me off. They should have done this way earlier if they were going to. Now he won't be able to find a new Summer League team and get the exposure necessary to get the opportunity he probably would have gotten as a free agent this summer.

                        • Jazz are expected to waive or trade Boris Diaw. They signed Jonas Jerebko and Ekpe Udoh to two year deals for $8.2 million and $6.5 million respectively.

Hawks re-sign Ersan Ilyasova at a ridiculous bargain of $6 million on a one year deal. Hope he cashes in big time next season.

Spurs renounce Jonathan Simmons, making him a UFA. They have cost him the big pay day he earned after he saved their asses in the playoffs last year. Classy. They're signing Brandon Paul instead, and I'm very happy for him because he deserves it and would have been on my Sixers last season had he not gone down with an injury.

                          • Now the Knicks apparently want to keep Melo. I swear they're like a person who stays in a dysfunctional relationship after making a big stink about leaving.

                            • Guys what are the chances of Edmund Sumner making the Pacers roster this year? Will he stick around in D-League or will he be willing to give Europe a try. I know that he had a bad ACL injury and his game was so reliant on quickness and athleticism.

Honestly I think he belongs on the roster and may very well be the best point guard they have but players from conferences like the Big East/AAC/A10 tend to be overlooked despite being by far the best prepared for pro ball thanks to coming from programs where winning supersedes literally everything else.
