  • Giannis Might Be One Of The Best In NBA

Giannis Antetokounmpo made a huge leap this season and will win the Most Improved Player Award with ease.. I suspect he's just gonna get better from here on, and be one of the best, IF not the best player in a few seasons.
What you guys think? Check out my video for further explanation..

I've been saying that since last year. But really, this whole way of looking at the league is going to go the way of the dodo very soon. Giannis is the best of his type but it's already becoming impossible to pick All-Star teams, and this has just started. This is what happens when a sport goes global the way soccer/football has been for so many years.

but that's what makes the game so entertaining. International players like Dirk, Ginobli, Parker, Giannis are the reasons why the game has developed so much around the world. Also I think regardless of it going global, there's always going to be All-Star snubs. It's just way too hard to pinpoint out the All-Star Roster with a pool of great players that we have today.

The internet has made it so kids who would have otherwise had no access to the highlight clips and live footage we take for granted can now access it whenever they want. This has allowed the prospects of both my late 80s generation and this newer one to develop an Americanized game, which is producing superstars rather than role players with limited athleticism and rigid skills. You're talking about guys who for the most part were among the first wave of major Euro prospects. You miss though that what really expanded the game and continues to is the NBA caliber US players who get overlooked and dominate in leagues all around the world. A rising tide lifts all boats, as they say.

I'm not talking about snubs. I'm saying there's going to be entire teams you could put together from the snubs each year in the future.

Basically, you're seeing multiple factors come together to put basketball on the heels of being where soccer is, and put the NBA on the heels of being for basketball what the Premier League is for soccer. Look at this current draft alone. You've got multiple potential franchise players from countries other than the US in addition to the ones from the US, most of whom are not from traditional US hotbeds, and I could point out tens of players who won't be drafted who could easily play in the NBA. This is literally unprecedented and far surpasses the situation of any other North American sport.
