There should be a rule against voting for players who missed the majority of the first half with injuries. No way should Kyrie be playing over Kyle Lowry or Reggie Jackson.

Its all about the star power rather than the best players again.

well yeah. that''s the whole point of letting the fans vote. The fans get what the fans want. All NBA is more important and players(fans too) have got to stop whining about the all star game selection.

First, no real fan would vote in an inferior player based on
on popularity. It's one thing when Chinese fans voted for Yao Ming to play in it every year so they could see a countryman play in the game. It's a whole other when fans are voting in Kyrie Irving as a starter entirely because of popularity. It's supposed to be the best players playing, and the All Star Game used to be entirely guys having great years. No way would players of past eras see getting voted in despite not deserving it as anything other than an insult. A lot of players today have zero integrity though

Second, your point is all well and good except players still get judged based on how many All Star teams they have been selected to.

Third, it's not whining to say you deserve something that you have earned. The whole point of this game is to reward the guys who have earned their spot in it. This participation trophy nonsense is getting ridiculous. Also, did you consider it whining when John Wall was talking about how he gets paid the same as Reggie Jackson as well? Can't have double-standards after all.

From the 2006 starters, Wade and James are still viable. For the west 10 years ago, Kobe Bryant is still a starter despite him playing in his last all-star game. Tim Duncan was a starter 10 years ago, but now Leonard takes his place. I'm hoping to see Duncan as a reserve.

Really happy with this lineup other than Wade being in over Jimmy Butler or DeRozan and PG and Melo being in over Drummond. I'm especially happy with the West. Russ and Kawhi both definitely deserve this.

Some of these are just plain goofy. Harden in the 3 point contest? Big men in the skills competition?

Drummond in the dunk contest should be interesting. Never thought of him as that kind of dunker.

Agreed about the big men. About the three point shooting contest, I think it will be down to Steph and Thompson in a furious match but I won't underestimate Lowry in this one.

I think Zach LaVine has a good chance here becoming the first back to back Slam Dunk Contest winner since Nate Robinson , this kid is just made for dunking. Drummond depends how much creative will he be maybe he will surprise us.

Was a bit disappointed with the Rising Stars Challenge game, I knew there was going to be little defense but this was zero defense, no defense at all. Maybe next time make some kind of a prize, money prize ? So the players will be a little bit more motivated at least, anyways some nice episodes from the game but didn't make it look that good without defense.
