The international team is dropping like flies right now. Kostas Papanikolaou and Dellavedova to replace Olynyk and not sure who else.

You know, I hate to see guys go down, but these are some very good players who are finally going to get their due and their time in the national spotlight, and I couldn't be happier about it. Olynyk, Steven Adams, and most of the other Rising Stars have had their names out there and gotten that exposure, and these other guys have kind of taken a back seat. Good for them that they're going to get a chance to show the world what they can do.

Anthony Davis issued a press statement that the Pelicans have shown. Davis will not play in the All-Star game. In response, Steve Kerr inserted Klay Thompson and James Harden into the starting five for the west.

Damn, that's not good. I hope they do the right thing and add Conley as his replacement.

Yeah, given the success of Memphis, I'm surprised that Marc is the lone rep there. I'm rooting for Conley also.

          EDIT:

That was quick, Dirk was the replacement.

The NBA All-Star Weekend will continue to be a disappointment until the true stars of the game one, start to participate, and two, those brutal little gimmicks and props are eliminated from the competitions. It's time for the likes of Lebron James to step-up, throw down in the dunk contest, and put on a real show for the fans. With all due respect to Zach LaVine, who is the odds on favorite to win the dunk contest (or so says TopBet.eu and Bovada who have him at -120), LBJ would destroy him in a dunk-off just on hype alone. Fans are paying a lot of money for pretty bad value in my opinion. I Would love to go back to the All-Star days of Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler, Dominique Wilkins, and Vince Carter.

Now there is news that Anthony maybe pulling out of the all-star game to rest his ailing knee.

I would love that. Vucevic deserved it over him in the first place.

Robert Covington deservedly is now in the Rising Stars Challenge, and Nurkic is unfortunately pulling out.

                  Nurkić.
Due to his elegance and imagination, Mirza Delibasic was one of the continent's greatest ever players.

I can't wait to see the Rising Stars Challenge this year. A lot of these international guys are guys we all know are great but most of the rest of the NBA fans don't really know much about them and now they'll get the kind of exposure they wouldn't have otherwise gotten. These are really good players, too. Mirotic and Papanikolaou are both really talented players as we all know, but they really don't get to show off their complete games usually. Same with Dellavedova. Schroeder is a really good, quick player too who should put on a show as the point guard.

US lost the game because LaVine and Burke threw it away, doing a great job of displaying exactly why their teams don't win. Covington was too passive on offense for my liking but he played a great overall game. Giannis and Wiggins were exactly what you'd expect but Gobert really impressed me. He's like a French Anthony Davis with his athleticism, agility, and ball-handling ability. Good luck to Utah trying to keep him, Favors, and Exum locked up.
