  • Good Basketball Agencies

    Hi guys,

I'm new here, in fact, this is my first post, so please go easy on my. My step-son has come on leaps and bounds in the game and we've been approached by quite a few agencies that want to take him on. Now, I'm not really a basketball fan nor do I pretend to know much about the sport, but I do know when companies are trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

So many agents seem to be offering the world to us and our son, which for me just isn't feasible. So far, the only basketball agency that has approached us and that has spoken any sense and kept Mark (step-son) grounded is Marcher Sports Management - http://www.marchersports.net. Now, I have to say that I have been impressed with them as they haven't prodded and pushed Mark into doing things that he doesn't want to do.

I was wondering what I should expect from a good agency? Marcher have said that they will prepare Mark for the drafts and to be honest, they're the only agency that has said this. So far, all the others have said that Mark doesn't need any prep work as they have the 'coaches ear'. As I said, I am no basketball pro, but that seems a bit dodgy to me. Am I right? Is is strange to basically not prepare my son for something that could change his life?

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

    Warm regards,
    Ivayne Payten
