No one who works for The Pelicans or writes about them actually thinks AD will be traded anytime soon. Don't let Boston sports media fool you and don't let misleading writing tell you the Warriors are actively trying to trade for him.
But you said nobody in New Orleans is saying to trade him and well that's impossible to know unless you actually live there.
Prior to acquiring Boogie it was probably the case -and most Pels fans probably still view AD as the best thing that ever has or ever will happen to their franchise- but considering his value might never be higher and a healthy Cousins is 1A to AD's 1 as far as the best big men go (even if he isn't the same player once he comes back) and is more dominant down low, it's a legit thought if they do in fact re-sign Cousins. The return they would get for AD would set them up for years, and the immediate return of a team's young core would allow them to put a contender around Boogie and Jrue. There's no way that nobody in New Orleans wants to see it happen. Not unless they can't re-sign Cousins or he can't stay on the court.

Like I said, I doubt it, but its worth to listen to atleast. Im not that familiar with NO salary but my understanding is bulk of it is on AD and Holiday. if Boogie walks away, will you be able to sign substantial support for AD to atleast stay in the playoffs if not move further? If you can get a good deal for AD and convince Boogie to stay, that might keep you guys in the hunt for a few more years. Resigning Boogie will be heaps expensive, I dont know how much you can augment your team between the salaris of AD-Holiday-Boogie.
top of my head if a trade from GSW\Boston is put into table without looking at salaries yet - just me so there is absolutely no truth in this:
GSW - AD
NO - Klay and Green or Klay, Iggy, and Bell
----
Boston - AD
NO - Kyrie plus multiple picks; or Kyrie and Morris
GSW trade gives you depth and Boston gets you Kyrie to pair with Boogie and chance to get young assets.WE DON'T COUNT YEARS, WE COUNT CENTURIES

having said that, what do you guys think of this? how should NO handle this?
I thnk NO should wait till draft night before trading. Davis locked this season and next. waiting game favors Boston mostly and NYK a bit. Trading now, moves the finger to LAL because of the assets they can send over now. NO can ask LAL for BI, Lonzo, Kuzma, and Zubac and I wouldnt argue with it.
however, if they wait, an unprotected 1st round pick from NYK and KP is more tempting. thats 2 top 10 picks, and KP. thats a new team as well.
I dont think Boston will let go of Tatum, but they can give Hayward and Brown with picks. people might say, Hayward is a shell of himself. well, he came from major injury and he isnt really getting confidence since coming back because Kyrie is hogging it. not that I blame Kyrie but it does slow down getting Hayward flow in with the team. if NO takes that, they get a former All Star who can still be an all start, and a young guard who has all star potential. i dont think he will be anytime soon but has that potential.WE DON'T COUNT YEARS, WE COUNT CENTURIES

When Anthony Davis fired his agent and signed with Lebrons team anyone with half a brain can see that both he and the agent were in agreement that he would end up with the Lakers and sign long term there when the opportunity arose.
So with that said these teams are all trading for a rental except for the Lakers. If I am the Pelicans I get the Lakers best offer now which as you mentioned is sizable. I can’t trust the Celtics offering Tatum, Brown and picks in the summer because they too must know that they are purchasing a rental so they can’t mortgage their future. Gordon Hayward is useless as a trade piece because his contract is enormous. I’ve said it since last year when I heard nobody mentioning it at the time that Kyrie Irving is never going to sign long term with the Celtics.
Now fron the Lakers point of view I play hardball leading up to the trade deadline. I offer a great package but I tell the Pelicans that it’s off the table after this week. We will not be pursuing a trade next year. We are pretty confident that no matter where you trade him next year that he will end up with us the following year when he is free to go anywhere he pleases. This is so obvious due to his choice of representation.
This is gonna be a crazy week.Silver medal 2012 Olympics prediction game.

Boston can go different ways, and even if they rented a year, whole of next season, i see them taking the east from Bucks (Kawhi should have left Toronto by then) and depending how GSW handle Boogie and Durant (i think both leaves) Boston having Kyrie and AD should have a chance to win a ship.WE DON'T COUNT YEARS, WE COUNT CENTURIES

I definitely can see New Orleans making a dumb deal like that miserable human being known as Popovich and trading their star away for a worse deal with no future upside just out of spite.Silver medal 2012 Olympics prediction game.

Danny Ainge is fully aware of this and its the same reason he didn’t give up Tatum for a Kawhi rental last year. He will never offer Tatum and Brown for a one year Davis rental. If he did the best case scenario would be Kyrie resigning for a one year with a player option fully knowing that Davis is gone the following year and hope to catch lightning in a bottle and win a title in that one year. Then they both will be gone the following year no matter what. Take it to the bank. Ainge would never mortgage his team’s future like that.

and i agree again, that NO might be more inclined to trade to the East. but im fine if they trade to LAL for BI, Kuzma, Zubac, and Hart (i dont like Ball in NO)WE DON'T COUNT YEARS, WE COUNT CENTURIES
