Nice blog catching all international rookie players for the next season. How do you think they will do?
I would bet a best seasons for:
Mirza Teletovič. His team is not a beast and he's probably the only player at the peak. If he will get a chance and I think he will, he'll should do good.
Nando de Colo. The guy is improving every year. He should be good for San Antonio, one of the smartest teams in NBA - probably the best place for International players. Not the big role, but I would see a solid, consistent season.
Alexey Shved. The guy should fit better for NBA style than European and his team likes young players. He can play.
Donatas Motiejūnas. A great performance in summer league. D- Mo seems to have a lot of attention now. He'll face some competition at 4, but I think he'll play as a back-up for Asik as well in Rockets. Consistency and defence might be an issue. On offense however he should be a matchup problem any time he enters the court.
Average chances:
Jonas Valančiūnas. Depends on how he'll look on defence and how willingly Raptors guards will try to find him. If he'll stay on the court for more than 20 minutes, he'll have some rebounds and tip-ins by him self. Few pick and rolls and you have a very effecient player. Training camp and pre-season games is needed for him. I think his rookie year is pretty tricky, but bigs usually need time + the biggest question how he'll deal with his main problem in defence.
Joel Freeland. I'm not even sure he'll get enough playing time, but maybe he'll surprise. He's more of NBA player I think.
Pablo Prigioni. Will he get a decent role? I don't see a big role, that's for sure.
Not so sure about it:
Victor Claver. He should fit better for NBA game, that's for sure, but I'm not in love with his skills, profile and so on. Maybe he'll susprise, but I doubt.
Slava Kravtsov. No idea? Maybe you would help me here?
