  • Can the Raptors survive a lost NBA season?

While playing in predominately hockey Canada, the Toronto Raptors have done remarkably well in attendance over the years. However, could the loss of an entire season make their future in Toronto precarious? It could be argued that the 98-99 lockout was the beginning of the end for the Grizzlies in Vancouver - and that was only with the loss of part of the season. Will Toronto fans be as willing to forgive as perhaps American fans will be? Or will they turn to the NHL or CFL for their entertainment?

The last lockout alienated the fans of the Vancouver Grizzlies. After the lockout, attendance and ticket sales where in a down spiral.

You could also argue the 94 baseball strike was the beginning of the end for the Montreal Expos so there's a definite pattern. It really depends how long it goes, and how the team is managed after. A lengthy lockout plus continued incompetence could kill them.
