Houston seems pretty serious about their playoff ambitions. However they're doing great so far being 20-7 and adding too much talent somethines isn't the obvious way to go imo. Surely Smith would be an upgrade, but adding such players is normaly also a matter of chemistry. Stacking one great player after another ussualy doesn't work out the expected way...Originally posted by Jon_KoncakThat's funny shit.I cant believe there are sports fans thinking like it.It's like Federer losing to random Japanese player in round 1 of French Open but tournament director stepping in and saying "hey it was a fluke win who wants to watch a random Japanese guy in next round,Federer qualifies"

Good. If Smith earns his 30 minutes, Motiejunas becomes first post player from the bench and plays opponents' backups without Howard in his way

I can't believe the Rockets are offering Clint Capela like he's a crappy veteran. He's only 20 and was a first round pick in one of the most stacked drafts in history. I get that they're in win now mode but that's a huge asset to just give away like that just to make room for Josh Smith. The Bucks or Cavs should be all over that given their lack of big men. Give the kid a shot and if he doesn't work out then you can trade him for probably more than you had to give up to get him.

Josh Smith with 21 points off the bench and 8 rebounds and 3 assists as Houston wins his first game as a Rocket in overtime over Memphis. Josh Smith played the way he always has, only since his game complements the Rockets players better, they got the win. Great pickup for the Rockets in a conference that really doesn't require defense the way the East does.

A good read about Hakeem Olajuwon, a look back after that 1995 Rockets championship.

Howard returned tonight but he looks out of shape and not being able to establish with the team's offense synergy. Howard also looked a bit slow on the defense plus gotten into foul trouble. Rockets won after holding off the Pelicans' charge in the 4th. Tyreke's heroics had me believe that Pelicans were about to pull off a comeback win but a missed layup from Asik and a free-throw from Davis allowed Rockets to win.
What a battle from James Harden and Tyreke Evans. Both putting a display of slicing prowess alongside some nifty shots off the dribble. Both were also very affective in giving plays to teammates. Very entertaining game.Sacramento Kings
