I’m not a Suns fan but I will definitely be watching a lot of games. When I say dark horse I don’t mean dark horse as in championship team I mean it as in a playoff team. The Rubio addition is an insanely good pick up. I think he has the potential to lead the league in assists because Ayton and Booker are going to feast. I really hope the Suns can return to prominence like the Nash days because it was a joy to watch. Good luck during the season and I’ll be watching Tuesday!!

Phx-Was gets deal done. Phx gets Rivers and Oubre while Was gets Ariza.

I think this is better than the one with Mem but I don't like it for the simple reason that we still dont have a playmaking PG. Or even a playmaker period, regardless of position. short term, Rivers should be helpful, I dont think he will be extended. if Oubre pans out well, I hope to have JJ and the Bucks pick traded before deadline for a PG. if we get a top 3 pick, we will most likely get a wing. if not, then we can probably get Morant.

Book signed his extension and summer suns are looking promising. We got a good foundation and with book signed, hopefully they all gel in. Defense need to step once season starts

The Hawks might do that trade. I mean you have to think they want to get out of that Bazemore contract.

If you want a potential replacement for Chriss, check out that Raymond Spalding kid. Can be had in the second round easily.

I can definitely see having to trade Warren at some point because that's the hole they dug themselves into by taking Jackson. Plus they have House, who showed last year that he should've been in the league this whole time.
agree with Young. purely thinking of the 3's flying sure its exciting but everything else, meh not really. I'm hoping Suns will get Doncic\Ayton (I prefer Luka but Ayton is still a stud and also ready now) if we can get another top 10 pick for a good trade even if we take a bad contract as long as the player with it is useful ill be pretty happy.

oh, and im lukewarm with Capela.

thinking about it, Hawks might trade their 3rd pick if Suns gives up Warren and Chriss(because he is more valulable than Bender but they can be switched) for 3rd pick and Kent Bazemore. Hawks might want the 16th pick, probably counter with 2nd round pick instead or a heavily protected future 1st.

Do it only if Doncic\Ayton is still available. I've seen rumors Suns trading for Trae Young. it sounds exciting and it does make sense if we get Ayton at 1st but meaningless if we take Ayton. However, if we do take Doncic at 1, and we are able to trade to late lottery we might be able to steal Wendel Carter jr. either way Warren and Chriss\Bender are my trade baits. dont want to give up both if we arent getting another top 5 pick or a decent veteran.

I dont know the direction of the team. Ive a feeling Luka has an edge over DeAndre simply because of Coach Igor. Booker, jackson, and whoever they pick isnt a playoff team. Add a great, not good, free agent and we become the wolves. Good enough for a playoff berth but might not have enough to be competitive. Chandler dudley and knight are all bad contracts but if we get Luka and Ayton by trading away booker or jackson plus chriss or bender, i think after next season we can lure better free agents. Chandler and dudleys contracts will end and we will have some space. Looking at the kings salary, its really just randolph with a bad contract but its as long as chandler and dudley. So i really wouldnt mind.

i wonder if there is a way For Phx to get both Ayton and Doncic without letting go of Booker and #1 pick(obviously). I see Ayton and Doncic fitting well with Booker.

Is the top pick and a veteran pickup thru free agency enough to bolt into playoff contention? if not, as much as i dont want to see it, can we trade Booker and instead build a team around Jackson, top pick, Chriss, and Bender with an impact veteran?

I think they can make this work despite the reported disconnection between McDonough and Hornacek. Most likely, the GM did not commit the player recommendations / types that Hornacek wanted as his tenure was in question as the season wraps up. With a clear house of roster and interesting young talent plus the likelihood that Suns could net Doncic, it will bridge coaching and GM communications once again.
