Drazen no doubt was one of the best 3PT shooters to have ever played the game and if only we got to see more of him as young kids growing up

It's unfortunate that he only played 4 seasons in the NBA 2 of them being with the Blazers were he was unhappy and frustrated trying to fit in the NBA system.... While we were able to see what he was capable of doing while playing with the Nets and he still hadn't reached his peak yet....

of course ray allen is the best in 3 point shooting, clutchwise i;d still give the ball to reggie or larry bird for clutch 3's. those 2 are like iceman

Nice list there by the way....I'm also glad to see that you also agree that Nash is one of the best 3PT shooters ever (not only in terms of percantage but also since he has been able to score this many 3PT FG as well)... By the way Nash is currently the best FT shooter in the history of the NBA (% wise speaking).
I thought about Kapono too but he doesn't quite have the body of work that the other guys I listed have. His %s have been up and down, although there were a couple of years where he was a lights out shooter. So to answer your question, he's borderline for my personal list, perhaps an honorable mention at best.

I actually think Nash isn't just the best 3 pt shooter in league history but perhaps the best shooter in history along with Bird. I just looked this up, did you know that Nash is on his way to his 6th straight year of 50/40/90 (meaning 50%+ from the field, 40%+ from 3pt, 90%+ from free throw) if you count the 2006-2007 year where he shot .899 from the FT line. That's amazing.
Bird only had 2 years doing that. Mark Price, Dirk and Reggie Miller did it once. No one else has ever done it. So that means if Nash accomplishes the feat this year he'll have done it 5 times (or 6 times if you count the .899 year) which is as much or more than the rest of the NBA has ever done. Amazing

Nice research there bro. I remember reading something like this a few years back.... What is so crazy is Nashs' performance is really out of this world. I don't know if it's the wheaties he's eating but he just seems "age-less" (just turned 37 a few days ago) and still playing at an All Star Level (He's probably the best late bloomer to have ever played the game as his career really started picking up after he was like 27 and was already in his 6th season and he's been gold ever since)

By the way congrats for Ray Ray on becoming the NBA record holder for 3PT FG scored (This thread was created for him at the end of the day )

I love Ray,but I don't know if I could call him the greatest 3 point shooter of all time.I like Reggie more just because he was amazing in clutch moments from the 3 point line.

                Steve Nash

Honorable Mention: Reggie Miller (probably the most overrated player in NBA history, but that's for another thread), Mark Price, Kyle Korver
                No Robert Horry? Allan Houston?

I just remembered this quote from Antoine

                  Antoine Walker:
"Because there are no fours."- when asked why he shoots so many threes

Antoine is playing in the D-league because the Chinese teams didn't want him...and he's broke. it's sad. For a while in the early 2000s (can't remember which season) I really thought he, not Pierce was the franchise player for the Celtics.

BTW here's the all time list:

It seems we are missing a lot of names. Jason Kidd right behind Reggie? Hmm... Didn't know about Rashard Lewis either. Jason Terry, I remember when he was the franchise player for the Hawks, the team was terrible but he'd be jacking 20 3's a game.

Robert Horry is nowhere to be found in the top 50. My bad... but neither is Steve Kerr. Don't they have like 15 rings between them?

That is indeed the best three-point shooting quote of all time, but he was probably my least favorite Celtic of all time. Has there ever been such a high-usage player who was so ineffective?

Lowest TS%, players with at least 1350 FGA:

                      1. Antoine Walker, 2002-03, .467
                      2. Antoine Walker, 1996-97, .474
                      3. Antoine Walker, 2004-05, .478
                      4. Jamal Mashburn, 1993-94, .480
                      5. Antoine Walker, 1997-98, .481

Proof that anyone can become a "star" by taking enough shots.

No love on this thread for Dana Barros? Hubert Davis?

Couldn't agree with you more about the Antoine Walker thing, he shot his team out of twice as many games as he shot them into.

As for Reggie- I can make my case but I don't want to go way off topic here. Who would you consider the most overrated player in NBA history?

                          reggie is better.

I think we'd have to define where players were "rated" before we say who is the most overrated, but Isiah Thomas is a good starting point for that discussion.

I could se Isiah as a bit overrated too. Maybe one of us can start a thread about this sometime soon. It'd be fun to discuss.
