Are you trying to tell me that the chinese basketball federation is a mirror of chinese civilians like you - that you do not want to share and take turns hosting - that you want everything for yourselves ? , and has it been proven already that the manila swat team shot the hostages ? in any case, I will give you reminders below from the past:

for your information, hosting rights have been awarded or not cancelled to countries that had terrorism or violent events.

for the athens olympics in greeces, heres a reminder for you:

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

A bomb attack in Athens on two buses carrying riot police caused no injuries early on Friday, but sparked fears of a reinvigorated leftist radical scene after a pre-Olympics crackdown. The remote-controlled bomb was placed at the railings by the side of a road and went off just after 7am local time when the buses drove by.

for the mexico olympics in 1968, heres another reminder for you:

BBC, News, BBC News, news online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service, archive, history, media

for the 1972 olympics in germany, heres another reminder:

Anyway, I will bring up this hosting issue again in the next fiba-asia in 2013 and see if your country wins again the hosting rights. what will be your excuse next time?

Everyone knows FIBA is corrupt but no organization would award hosting rights to a city whose hammer-wielding SWAT team shoots hostages.

Anyone who wants to replace a coach because his dwarf team keeps losing against bigger teams is wishing for a miracle and should get a magician. A more practical solution is to get reinforcements unless one is content to wait a few more years in the hope that the dwarf players will grow wings and fly over their defenders. PBA reinforcements will not guarantee a championship, but it will guarantee close losses which is enough to make me happy.

No idea--I haven't seen any ratings for the FIBA WC. I would think the Olympics draws much higher ratings than the World Championship. While the FIBA brand is fairly worthless, I think they would lose something if they didn't have the Olympic brand to go with the tournament.

The World Baseball Classic is allegedly profitable, so it ought to be possible for a similar basketball tournament to be profitable as well. I think you would want to spread the tournament across multiple countries as in the WBC.

Moreover, America always sends average players
They sent a strong team in 2009...of course the US doesn't have the same talent advantage in baseball as they do in basketball. IIRC the team was decimated by injuries during the tournament and so it wasn't a very strong lineup by the end.

It appears that Lithuania is already transitioning to baseball, so basketball has to do something in response:

So if you were the monkey you give the bananas away?
Well, some people here want NBA fans to give up their free tacos!

#1 Tacos are awesome, so lets get off of that.

#2 I can actually see the argument for Eurobasket being the most competitive. Five different winners in the last decade is damn impressive. However it has lost some of its luster since it expanded to 24 teams, lets not pretend there aren't some absolute dog teams in that since they expanded. Bosnia, Ukraine, and a guarantee that either Portugal (no offense Rikhardur) or Finland will get in, not exactly lighting the world on fire these teams

#3 To me the best tournament is the Olympics. Everyone played their way in. Euros can often get as many as half the tournament, so the bitching from them is cut to a minimum. Best players typically play.

          Actually I'd rank it
          Olympics
          Eurobasket Olympic years
          Worlds
          Euro non Oly years.

OT: I hope you read this article that was posted yesterday regarding Tacos before you decide to eat your next one (that's if you're eating at Taco Bell)

Alabama law firm Beasley Allen has filed a class action lawsuit against Taco Bell that claims the chain is falsely calling its taco filling "seasoned beef" and "seasoned ground beef" when allegedly...

As for the ranking classification I guess it's all linked/related to the "mother" of all events... (Olympics). I Don't believe the World Championships will ever reach the status of the Olympics even though I would have so wished that the World Championships had the same "fever" that the World Cup has for soccer.

However, from the viewpoint of small countries in Asia, it might be a good idea to try this NBA International thing of Cuban because there is this big asian country that has been monopolizing the hosting of FIBA-asia for many years now, and we are wondering why is it that FIBA keeps awarding the hosting rights to that country ?? I smell corruption and greed here as well.

The basketball federation of that big asian country should be ashamed of themselves. it behaves like a big greedy monkey who wants all the bananas for himself. shame shame shame !
And you really think that if NBA makes an international tournament in Asia they'll give it to any other country than China? What action they've taken till now has suggested otherwise?

that is the reason you try another way or another group. if we do not try we will not find out. we alreayd know the style of fiba so now lets try the style of nba and see what they have to offer. Again if we do not try we will not find out.

                    .

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban once again voiced his displeasure about FIBA International competitions.
