If you pay one star then you have him LeBron, AD, and Kuzma as your main 4.
Wagner, Caruso are like your number 9-10 guys. 10-12 are irrelevant. So basically you are talking about really like 4 guys.
A couple of veterans on the minimums and whatever and there’s your team. Top 7 and sometimes 8 guys are all that really matter on championship teams most of the time.

The internal debate right now is whether they go for one guy like Kemba, Or Jimmy Butler.
I think they would absolutely do it for Kyrie Irving. Or spread it out between 3 $10 million dollar or 2 $15 million dollar players.

I would go for Kemba. In my opinion better fit than anybody else.
Keep KCP, get Daniel Theiss for back up C, a low profile but reliable shooting guard playing 10-15 mins. Maybe Wesley Matthews.

If Kawhi goes to LA I imagine it will be to the Clippers, not the Lakers. Unlike Durant when he signed with the Warriors, Kawhi's already a two time finals MVP he's got nothing to prove, and I can't see him wanting to be a part of Lebron drama.

On the next move, Kemba would be the best realistic player, but he's spent the last month constantly upping the Hornets saying it's his 1st priority and that he'd take less than the max to stay. He could be bullshitting but it's odd that he seems to be going out of his way to talk up Charlotte if he's not going to sign there. Butler's probably the go to out of the big names.

If I am the Lakers I go big after Khris Middleton or Malcolm Brogdon. This way I drive up the price on probably one of my main competitors and maybe they won’t be able to resign both. This way you improve and hurt them at the same time.

Here we go again all of David Griffins friends in the media talking about how stupid the Lakers front office is yet they have LeBron James and Anthony Davis and a lot of cap space and are the favorites to win the championship. That’s what’s hilarious. When you combine the hatred/jealousy of LeBron James with that of the Los Angeles Lakers together you reach incomprehensible proportions. It’s gonna be funny watching the expert media create narratives when the Lakers are hoisting trophies.

Another hilarious situation is the Boston Celtics. Remember how everyone in the media was shoving them down our throats with all the young players, and future draft picks and they stole Kyrie Irving( which by the way I told everybody 2 years ago when they got him that he was probably a rental) and they were the future of the NBA after the Warriors.

Even before Griffith become pelicans GM last summer media was saying same thing about Lakers office putting around LeBron not shoters,but crazy guys and we all saw in ended last season...Those talks have seriuos reasons,what lakers done in this 6 years of tanking was just stupid...with such brand to be so bad in so long says it all...Lakers in first 50+in NBA missed the playoofs only 7 times overall...with Jerry Buss passing away they missed playoofs 6 straight years...this was is a mess.

Trophies? I don’t know maybe so they can afford someone let’s say like Anthony Davis as a long term piece of their future. I think that makes some sense to me. But I don’t know maybe I am nuts. Now they have that and room for more players. It was never about last year once they failed to add Paul George to LeBron in free agency. It was about cap flexibility and showcasing their young players in hopes of flipping them for Anthony Davis. Pretty brilliant if you ask me. But again all the media experts have all the answers.

It can get complicated, but the approximate $25 million refers to the 23.7 with Anthony trade kicker and 27.8 if not applied.
Yes they have the mid level and there will be many veteran minimums and some with guys ring chasing who are worth a lot more. That’s what will fill out the second half of the roster. I am not concerned with that and it’s historically not as important as it’s made out to be. Yeah depth can get you through a long regular season, but when it’s nut cutting time it’s about your main 7 guys that actually play and even more importantly about your top couple of guys. For next year it’s gonna be hard to put together a better duo than LeBron and AD. Now that money I mentioned will most likely be spent on two free agents. Possibly 3 and still some chance one elite level free agent. So there’s a strong possibility that with Kuzma, LeBron and AD along with two signings at a $12-13 million value per player you will have the best starting 5 on paper in the entire league. As I mentioned earlier you still have the mid level as a 6th man, a couple of veteran ring chasers and then rookie and existing guys like Wagner. It will be more than good enough if of course they totally don’t botch the two signings which I don’t see. Magic is not there anymore.
