            • We are currently 4-15 as last night we lost to the Los Angeles Clippers 98-91 where we saw a 16 point lead vanish. It is the defense that faltered this time.

Up next are the Washington Wizards.

+ Eugene Jeter had a good game against the Wizards where head coach Paul Westphal tried an uptempo offense where Jeter was asked to push the tempo and go full-speed into the break. The result was Jeter scoring 13 points and handing out 9 assists.

In the Kings' documented offensive struggles, a transition / uptempo game could easily fill in some points; but will be regarded as a calculated risk as the Kings are among the worst this year in the transition defense, whereas in a half-court setting, the Kings are far better. There are talks off a more uptempo game for the offense as Westphal had been diligently discussing with his coaching staff. So far, Jeter has responded where Jeter is fast and could be a potential catalysts for the Kings' envisioned uptempo game.

+ Tyreke Evans underwent a Magnetic Resonance Imaging scan and the results have yielded a plantar fasciitis in his left foot. Evans will not miss any games but will be receiving treatmen such as medication, medication, sleeping in a night splint and walking in a boot when not playing or practicing.

Evans has been playing through injuries this season, even spraining both ankles at some point.

                      • Guard Tyreke Evans will be traveling with the team on the Kings' 3 game road trip where Evans status' is listed as day-to-day or game-time-decision.

I talked to Tyreke's brother: Julius "Doc" Evans via twitter and he said:

@International_i Just had a word with @thetyrekeevans and he wouldn't have any of it. He will be wid d team. Thanks for asking @theClau.
Kings, Tyreke Take Off for Houston

Sacramento departed for its longest stretch of road contests since beginning the season with three away games. Get the most up-to-date team news including the latest on Tyreke Evans.

As the Kings prepare for their three-game road trip, much of the focus has been on Tyreke Evans’ left foot injury and whether or not he will continue to play. Although the Kings guard (mild plantar fasciitis) did not participate in full-contact drills on Monday, Coach Paul Westphal has not made an official decision on his status for Tuesday’s tilt.

“I think it was a good day for him to rest,” said Westphal after the team’s morning practice. “He’ll go on the trip and see how he feels tomorrow. Everybody’s concerned, and if the best thing to do is rest Tyreke, then that will be what happens.”

Veteran Beno Udrih has been through the same rehab process Evans now faces. Last year, Udrih battled plantar fasciitis but is now healthy after completing his treatment.

“It’s tough, and I understand it,” said Udrih of the painful ailment, which is characterized by inflammation of the plantar fascia and is associated with overuse.

“You need to stretch, put some heat on it and take some Aleve,” he continued. “You have to be consistent with the treatment, and he should be fine.”

The coaching staff will make an official decision before tomorrow’s game against the Houston Rockets. After starting the season off slowly, the Rockets have since turned things around by winning six out of their past 10 contests.

“Kevin Martin’s been on a major roll,” said Westphal of the former Kings guard. “They’re a very explosive team, and you have to be ready to defend and make them earn their points. They’re a good defensive team, and we have to move the ball and attack as a team.”

Kings forward Carl Landry believes the key to shutting down the Rockets’ offense is limiting their big men.

“They start with the big guys in the high post,” Landry said. “The big guys are the facilitators and make everything happen. You deny that offense, and it makes it very difficult for them.”

Landry is especially looking forward to the Houston trip. The co-captain previously spent two-and-a-half seasons with the Rockets.

“I’m excited to go back and see some of my friends who I developed friendships with while I was in Houston,” he said. “It’s going to be good to see some old buddies and get a chance to play in the arena again.”

Landry learned a lot in his earlier years with the Rockets. The Kings forward credits much of his growth to forward-center Luis Scola and is eager to return more experienced.
