  • NBA thinking of doing away with defensive 3 sec rule

Found this funny, what with the 3 point arch thread in the Euroleague section and the talk about EL being NBAized. It seems David Stern is thinking of taking a more European approach. Getting rid of the 3 second rule, would allow pure zones in the NBA.

Pistons: 2021-22 Let the Motorcade begin!!

Great news. I hope that FIBA and the NBA will meet half way. I think it's a good jesture. FIBA made the necessary changes. It's NBA's turn.

We have to unite the game in order to help it grow even more.

If this passes how much difference is left between FIBA and the NBA?

        Basket Interference (prefer FIBA)

        Jump Balls (Prefer NBA)

Definition on Traveling (no comment as it will lead to a ten page thread)

Time of game (meh make the quarter 11 minutes )

        Is there anything else?

EDIT oh damn from the same article

Stern hinted that the next major rule change in the NBA may allow any player to touch the ball after it has hit the rim, even if the ball is above the cylinder. "My favorite, the offensive interference," he said. "As far as I'm concerned, FIBA has it right: It's in play and the only thing the referee has to judge is, Did it hit the rim? That's it. To me, that's a sensible rule, and it would make foul shooting more fun too." Because then you would see players from both teams attacking the rim, either to tip in the ball for two points or to bat it away for none, which would add a new dimension to free throws in the last seconds of a tight game.

I'll help...traveling (should be like in FIBA)

3 point line still not same (should be in midle, future euro 3pt line)

time out (player calling like in nba, but not so much of them and long like in nba)

          time...(NBA...8 min. more basketball)

          jump balls (nba)

zone (yes...it's not doping, it's tactics)

world wide salary cap and player saleries limitatons
