If the postseason started today, these are the teams that would have made the playoffs--- and teams they'd meet in the first round:
East:
Cavs-Raptors
Magic-Bobcats
Celtics-Heat
Hawks-Bucks
West:
Lakers-Blazers
Nuggets-Spurs
Mavs-Thunder
Jazz-Suns
With roughly 10 games to go for each team, there are lots (And i mean, LOTS) of possibility on who will face whom come mid-April. That said, which match-up(s) would you love to see? Please do consider the team standings (Like assuming that Cavs and Lakers are virtual locks for the top seeds in each conference, unless you really believe they'll falter in this stretch run)
Let me start.
East:
Cavaliers vs. Bobcats
Good match-up and lots of athletic, tough wingmen to guard Lebron (Wallace and Jackson). Good playoff coach in Larry Brown. And Bobcats did beat Lebron and the Cavs twice already this season.
Cavaliers vs. Heat
Lebron vs. Wade. Could be a mismatch but heck, Wade is a different animal come playoff time, maybe we can see a classic in the making if this happens
Chicago vs. Boston
Yeah the Bulls are currently out of the playoff picture and it's sort of a stretch to hope they'd end up at number 6 (to meet #3 team Boston) but after last year's seven-game classic?
West:
Mavericks vs. Suns
i am a Suns fan and ALWAYS want that Steve-versus-Dirk angle; being former teammates (and still best of friends i believe) this is a "rivalry" i won't get tired of.
Lakers vs. Blazers or Mavericks vs. Blazers
i want first round upsets. i love underdogs. Blazers have dominated the Lakers in the Rose Garden the past few years and they are 3-0 versus Dallas this season.
Nuggets vs. Thunder
Melo vs. Durant.
Spurs vs. Mavs
If any, just for the Texas rivalry and their memorable battles this decade.
