  • Thabeet sent to the NBA's D-League

The Memphis Grizzlies sent rookie center Hasheem Thabeet, who was drafted 2nd overall in last year’s NBA draft, to the Dakota Wizards of the NBA Development League. The move makes the 7-foot-3 Thabeet the highest NBA draft pick to be placed in the NBA’s minor league.

    Ouch!

Hopefully, the big fella from Tanzania can bounce back and become a force in the league. It's unfortunate he has struggled in only his first season and thus, he has already faced so many critics.

Maybe, he can have the summer doing a one on one training with Dikembe Mutombo?

Most likely due to the fact that Hamed Haddadi was more efficient and more productive in limited playing time for the past two games than Thabeet who plays a considerable 10 minutes per game as back up center and his stats is 2.5 ppg and 2.9 rpg but his upside was averaging a block per game.

And oh, he just made history as the highest recorded draft pick (2nd Overall) to be sent to the D-League.
