I know this is a little late for 2006, but I still want this to happen. To keep this credible, please be as objective as you can when nominating and voting... So in 2006, who were your;

Player of the Year? Nowitzki. He took Dallas to the Finals, and single-handedly avoided disaster for German NT.
NBA Player of the Year? Dwayne Wade. Being the Finals MVP always is too much.
International Player of the Year? Dirk Nowitzki. He finally turned into a superstar.
European Player of the Year? Nowitzki.
Asian/Oceania/Middle East Player of the Year Yao Ming. This is the year he turned into the best center on the face of the Earth.
African Player of the Year I can't choose between Joaquim Gomes, Eduardo Mingas and Ime Udoka.
North American Player of the Year Carmelo Anthony, because of his NBA and FIBA performances.
U22 Rising Star LeBron just turned 22 , and I could add Chris Paul & Rudy Fernández.

Player of the Year? Kill Bill Spanoulis, b/c he was the golden dagger to Team USA's plan of reclaiming first place in WBC
