We had them on the ropes. 4th foul on Jokic and that 6 point possession took our swagger. But nevertheless, we had 3-4 wide open shots throughout 4th quarter to end this game, it just didn't go in. Oh, if they whistled the game how they should, Davis, Adebayo, James would all foul out long before end. I think each one of them had like 10 fouls on Jokic, and on the other hand they were eager to whistle every freaking contact from Jokic. But never mind, a game to remember from our boys. Kerr's coaching and all those hall of famers...LOL

About 30 minutes Serbia was playing very good. Great shooting night, basic play and more or less good solutions out it.
Great effort, strain and a lot of psychological strength.
But this team also have more lacks to these players of Usa wouldn't use in some moments. Very bad play of Usa until last quarter. attitude disaster, bad decisions, etc. They got in shooting competition with us, they hadn't use many physical advantages on some positions.
Probably their worst game on Olympics in knock-out round since semi-final vs Argentina 2004.
I see some critisize referees, I haven't seen many wrong decisions for Usa, or in some decisive moments.
We were close, but not enough ro win. Usa was much better in last 5 minutes and it was sufficiently to reach -7.

Finally watched the game after work. I think Serbia was just exhausted in the end they went to the wall to knock out Australia and couldn't do it again against a deep USA. Excellent game overall.

Pesic decision to not playing Avramovic most of the fourth quarter probably have cost us the game. That was his only real mistake in this game by costly one. Avramovic was able to penetrate american defense and was hitting threes all game long . Micic was completely useless in the 4th quarter, I think Pesic has awarded him for the game against Australia. Still it was the one possession game, if Durant didn't make that long jumper we would have had possession to tie the game or to take the lead back, I know we scored possession later but we were still down 2 points. 20 seconds until the end of the quarter. We were so close yet too far at the end to upset Americans. Now we have to find the way to win third place game.

Jokic's 4th foul was the most obvious: a moving screen from Davis is awarded an extra possession instead of invalidating the play. That's a 6-point swing there. But all game long we saw James and Embiid being given free throws for bumping into defenders, while on the other side Jokic, Milutinov and Petrusev were hacked and nothing was whistled.

No one mentioned how the two teams managed to stop opposing teams running game for almost the whole game. The only thing they werent able to do so when us got 4 point out of it to extend the lead into 5..

Not true. Herbert asked in 2022 a group of players if they could commit to play every summer for his "three years plan" from Eurobasket to the Olympics and Hartenstein said that with his contract situation in the NBA he could not do that. There was talk this summer about including him in the team after his great season with the Knicks, and he said he would love to play, but he also said that the group of players who got the gold medal last year deserved the spot, plus he just became a father for the first time. I think he is in the team from next year.

Lithuania is used to be bronze medal experts im saying you serbian players mindset is not made for bronze game. For them is gold or nothing in their heads.


Remember how they looked in last bronze games 2010 and 2015 where they had devastating very close semifinal loses.

They where blown out of the both games for bronze.


Maybe im wrong because its olympic medal but i would bet on Germany to win it.

I rooted for Serbia like crazy yesterday evening even though a Serbian win meant "supposedly" a harder bronze game against the US. But it would also mean a chance to prove once again we can compete with the Americans like we did in the friendly in London. Tomorrow morning will probably be a battle of nerves. An olympic medal is still an incredible achievement so they will fight hard for it, but both teams are psychologically devastated from yesterday's result.

I dont think that it will effect them very much. They are too old to be affected by a loss. Both teams will try to win and play their best game and I am pretty sure that the Serbs will make it this time.

I would be suprised seeing Serbia 100% locked in for bronze game. I expect negative emotions from serbs in bronze game and maybe even some arguments on their own bench.


When for Germans i believe bronze medal would be consider good results in players heads so they gonna play as hard as they can.

I would be with you if there was no medal to win but Serbia will make bronze medal clear. I even think that the German side is emotionally more affected by the loss than Serbia.
