Wow. I didn't expect the Greeks to be so timid. At times it looked like nobody wanted to take the shot. Spain focused all their defensive effort on stopping Giannis, and to his credit, they couldn't do much more than limiting him. But nobody else on the Greek team stepped up and took advantage of the attention Giannis attracted. Spain didn't have that many weapons offensively other than Aldama and the three-point shot, but was enough.

In last years WC it was even worse. Nobody wanted to shoot the ball. Even Papagiannis standing in front of an empty basket without any defense in front of him, preferred to pass instead to shoot.

For sure Spannoulis would have preferred to have Kostas Ante instead of Papagiannis on the field.

Names doesn't matter. Giannis is a C in Fiba basketball and he needs spacing. You need a shooting 4, 3, 2 and Pg besides him as much time as possible. Now he's playing more or less all the time with non shooting Pg, 5, who can shoot a little but doesn't bring anything else, and half of the time non shooting 2.

Fuck experience, play younger players, who can shoot more.

Well, NTs are not clubs. It's not like you can go out there and sign shooters if you need them. I'm not sure if Spanoulis could have called someone else better suited to profit from Giannis gravity.

It just occurred to me that if Giannis could play with Italy, that would be a powerhouse.

Toliopoulos has shoot 4/6 for 3 and has played only 17 minutes and why should Papagiannis play 25 minutes, if Giannis can play C in D? And they brought Walkup instead of some other naturalised player.

Calathes and Walkup have played 55 minutes and scored 13 points, 1 less than Toliopoulos. 5/19 vs 5/8.

Playing Calathes and Walkup is just an excuse for a coach, if they're bad and bad fit their time should be limited no matter who they are.

I agree. That foul to tie the game was ridiculous. Japan 100% deserved to win that game. I normally don’t like to complain about the refs, but that was some serious home cooking for the French.

Second straight game that the French have been given favorable calls from the officials. It's marred an otherwise fantastic tournament so far.
