I believe Spain's best asset coming into this tournament is the psychological advantage we enjoy against both Australia and Greece. Like, they haven't been able to beat us in a meaningful game for a long time and, even though they are favoured this year, that burden they're carrying may give us an edge. The one thing we have going for us is the hustle. We never quit, and even the recent losses have been hard fought battles, never blowouts. If we can get one win against Australia or Greece, that may be all we need to get through the group phase.

Going past that (a top-8 finish) is delusional. But I don't really see any team from group A advancing to semis save maybe Canada if they don't have any misstep like last year's against Brazil.

Basically everyone gives better chances to Greece than Spain. You can have a look at FIBA's Power Rankings. You can check the odds from betting companies. You can compare the performance of both squads in the Qualifying Tournament, with Spain struggling against powerhouses like Finland and Bahamas while Greece brushed aside much more competitive teams like Slovenia and Croatia.

I'm not saying that Greece should beat Spain in their matchup. That's a game that needs to be played and the psychological edge of Spain may result in an upset win even though the talent is clearly on Greece's side. But if those 12 teams were playing in a league format, Greece would rack up more wins than Spain for sure.

With Simmons and Giddey teaming up for the Boomers, and Curry potentially joining the USA if healthy, it's going to be an exciting 2024 Olympics. France's squad is impressive with Wemby, and they might not need Embiid. However, the competition from Canada, Europe, and Argentina will be intense. PG will definitely play a crucial role in the success of these teams.
