  • Turin OQT Group A Day 1: Greece - Iran

The famous Battle of Thermopylae between the Spartans and the Persians over 2500 years ago will be reenacted in Italy through this match between Greece and Iran.

This OQT could be the last time the Golden Generation of Iran will play together as a team, as their Big Three of Haddadi, Kamrani, and Nikkhah Bahrami are not getting any younger. But they will still have a bright future with their younger guys led by the Iranian Teodosic Mohammad Jamshidi, stepping up big in their tune-up games and the imminent entry of NBA draftee Arsalan Kazemi.

EDIT: The Adeto brothers will play, Kamrani and Bahrami will not. My apologies.

I read some reports that Greece will play without the Adeto brothers, Dorsey, and one more Greek player whose name I forgot.

Greece will play without the Antetokounmpo brothers and Dorsey, but are still heavily favored to win this game, though I strongly believe this game can go both ways, as both teams will give their all for that lone Olympic spot in Turin.
You just mixed some things up here Giannis and his bro will play, but Nikkhah-Bahrami is out out of the tournament, the same like Kamrani, Afagh. Big blows for Iran, so Greece should have an easy game, most likely a blowout is coming

Too bad. I am expecting a Thermopylae-like battle between Haddadi and the Greek bigs.

Dorsey was cut from the final roster.Probably the next one who you don't remember is Kavvadas, also was cut.Nothing has been mentioned about if Giannis or Thanassis will play though.

Iran hanging in there after the first quarter. Kazemi with a big dunk over Bourousis.

How are you watching the game if you are in the US? On FIBA's website it takes me to espn.com which actually does not have the game.
