What odds are you fellows giving on the Italian team qualifying for the Olympics? What do you think are the chances of success? Which opponent worries you more, Greece or Croatia?

Good chance, but in Italy we often underrate our players,so less than 33%

What do you think are the chances of success?
Actually I don't know,I must see the final roster, however i think that play in front of 15000 italian fans will be great factor for us

Greece, because the have players with winner mentality that play important games like final 4,Bouroussis played great season,Giannis you know that he could be in Area Fiba and their backcourt player have great skills in defense!

Instead Croatia like us is an offensive team with poor skills on defensive side!

Also like your PG at least a little better. Croatia is awful at the PG position.

Today Messina, after the final of Trento's tournament will name the 16-man preliminary squad!

I think Polonara and Vitali won't be out, maybe also Poeta!

          Possible outsider Bruno Cerella

in my opinion these are final 16:

          Hackett-Cinciarini-De Nicolao
          Belinelli-Aradori-Della Valle-Cerella
          Datome-Gentile-Abass
          Gallinari-Melli-Pascolo
          Bargnani-Cusin-Cervi

Will Gentile play?I thought that he had a severe injury but I also saw him playing at the Italian league finals. What's up with him?

He isn't fully recover(his shooting parable was terrible sometimes in playoff expecially against Venice),but phisically against Reggio Emilia seemed he recovered his natural phisical exuberance!

Italian National Team head coach Ettore Messina cut the roster of the team to 16 players following the Trentino Basket Cup won by his players. After the tournament in Bologna scheduled for next weekend, Messina will announce the 12 players for the Olympic Qualifying Tournament of Turin

                The 16 are:
PG Daniel Lorenzo Hackett, Giuseppe Poeta, Andrea Cinciarini
G Marco Stefano Belinelli, Alessandro Gentile, Amedeo Della Valle, Stefano Tonut
[SF Luigi Datome, Awudu Abass, Pietro Aradori
PF Nicolò Melli, Danilo Gallinari, Andrea Zerini
C Riccardo Cervi, Andrea Bargnani, Marco Cusin

Reserves: Davide Pascolo, David Reginald Cournooh, Luca Vitali, Fabio Mian

                Pascolo out,this is a joke

So it' looks like Messina will choose:

Hackett, Cinciarini, Bellinelli, Gentile, Della Valle, Aradori, Datome, Melli, Gallinari, Cousin, Bargniani and Cervi. Abass has a chance, Poeta too.

                  Where is Polonara?

i expect Polonara out,in his spot wer have the better players and also Datome can play minutes like stretch forward!

I think Messina preferes three big man (Cervi,Bargnani and Cusin) and two power forward(Melli and Gallinari)!

Della Valle has few chances,Abass play very well in these two friendlies(always starting 5),he is a very good defensive player and Messina love him, most probably he will be in the final 12!

                    definitely:

                    Hackett-Cinciarini/Poeta
                    Belinelli-Gentile-Aradori/Della Valle
                    Datome-Abass
                    Gallinari-Melli
                    Bargnani-Cervi-Cusin

Davide Pascolo replaces the injured Andrea Zerini in Italian NT training camp

I think, unfortunately, he has few chances, but him or Cervi is a win-win for us!

Are there still tickets for the Torino "final" available? Is it sold out?

What is Italy's play style with Messina? Is their offence more structured?
