So proud of this team and players. Third straight semifinal at Olympic Games, unbelievable. I have a lot of respect for Brasil, i wasn´t sure Argentina could win this year, they had all their stars and in their prime.

What's the over/under for cheap fouls Campazzo goads US players into committing in the semi?

He's already made a grab for Carmelo's bits, so maybe he will have an appetite for more of that kind of play in a game with higher stakes.

Unbelievable Argentina. Seems like they'll never die . They've been at their peak eight years ago and still playing for a medal, the third time in a row. They looked done before the Bronze Medal game in 08 and won it thanks to Nocioni, who left everything he had on the court and today he did it again. This Golden Generation has such a high Basketball IQ, they're tough as nails and they simply know how to win.

Just imagine, in 02/4 they had their current starters (Ginobili, Delfino, Nocioni, Scola)+ retired Pepe Sanchez, Montecchia, Sconochini, Herrmann, Oberto, Wolkowyski, Palladino/Leo Gutierrez.

    Brazil don't have CLUTCH players

we missed 12 free throw in CRUCIAL moments... so

Argentina is a better team, they have a awesome gold generation... and we did our job on my expectative, TOP 8.

<3ed Hene. I wanted to see how USA would of handled him. Pity Brasil did not make a loop, but Scola and any other centre were completely shut down + he helped a lot in def'ing other players. That centre was moving a LOT for a centre 2... and his physique let him more or less just stands there and let ppl hit in per say.. he was already like a tanker there. + wide arms allowed good reach while vertically jumping and quite fast outbursts on offence. Really, THAT'S the centre liths would need to learn how to play from. Additionally, he is thinking on def 2. Argentinians got fauls out every time he got a ball. Tho I feel he played a little rough on offence with ball while all fauls went for def'ing centre. That's y I wanted to see him playing team USA to see how they would of handled 1 on 1 fight and how centres would of played against him in offence.

Oh well I guess... but that's the guy to learn from I think <.<

2nd guy I liked was that white guy with curly hair. He moved a lot! That's the type of PG I would love liths would have. He was active and good on offence and defence. He did make some bad judgement calls in the end of game or per say misses.

Good game btw . A game of today I think..

I also thought the same... I think this was the best Brazilian squad to be assembled and that they would finally make it to the semis and get a chance at winning a medal. The "old" Argentinians though had something else in mind

Brazil fought hard to get back in the game but they wasted their chances and took some bad decisions.... Ginobili and Scola are just awesome!
As for Brazil huge respect for Huertas

That Campazzo is one clever/arrogant little flopping bitch. He's already surpassing Manu. Guess for some it shows "intelligence". I think he might get seriously hurt in US-Argentina rematch.

Well, Argentina is a better team by a mile. So there is no much hope left for Brazil. Their advantages can come up only as the shortages of the current Argentina NT: Argies has an extremely short bench with their veterans playing 35+ minutes every game, it lacks definite centers and while Scola offensively is 3 times better than Nene, Splitter and Varejao combined he can be exhausted in the end of the game with all the intense fight with the very athletic and hard-nosed Brazilian bigs, Prigioni is playing with an injury and just like on any other position there is no adequate substitute for him as the promising youngster Campazzo is still too raw and inexperienced for this level, and, well, they all are old and lost some dexterity and mobility in the process.

planaria, Marcelinho is a huge player with the highest IQ level but he is surrounded by strictly non-intellectual players which limits his abilities in organising the play. Huertas is too intellectual and too good for this team Brazil. Giovannoni who definitely ain't an idiot is only a role player these days and the only other player with some brains in current Yellow-Green team is Alex Garcia which says it all because Garcia, an ountstanding athlete, slasher and defender, isn't a very clever player either.

Today seems to be the Brazil vs. Argentina derby day

Brazil managed to beat Argentina 3-0 in the men's volleyball quarterfinals... Let's see if they can do the same in Basketball

There's a slim chance that Brazil will win, but I'll go with the underdogs! Go Brasilia...
