20-20 after one. It seems that the game will be won by the team that misses free throws the least.

Anyway, it seems that when you ask a person from America, Asia, or Oceanía. "Will you take it slow against the european team so you can give it your all against the team from the other continent?", any person will answer "yes".

When you ask the same question to an african they answer: "Nonsense, dey cannot tek our defense".

I also support Nigeria because I always root for the underdog but a NGR win could really screw things up for GRE if we win tonight...

If Nigeria wins for less than 16-18 points, Venezuela is out, right?

this is the mentality that i just don't get. have some confidence in your team. you are either good enough to qualify or not. stop worrying about matchups.

9 of the Nigerian players are USA-born (they are of Nigerian descent of course, but I just thought it was worth pointing out).

If it's true, it's deserved. That was a disgraceful showing by Venezuela and their coach. They deserve it.

I am not watching the game, can those of you who are watching it weigh in on whether you think LTU is losing on purpose to mess with VEN? I would be shocked if they would do something this risky at this stage...

I won't accuse them of it - I mean it's nothing like Greece versus France 2009 for example...but I have to admit that thought crossed my mind a couple times watching the game.

In this case they would have a legit reason though. There was no reason for Musselman to act that way, and then for his team to follow him. Vasquez was also way out of line. It's a double insult that the tournament host acted that way.
