It's not their fault, they were brought up thinking that the world is made up from the US and the rest of the world. But now this is biting them in the butt thus the rude attitude. I expect the mods to do their job before this place becomes a circus.

Jesus can you ladies who want to keep bitching take it somewhere else and stop hijacking this thread? Believe it or not some of us actually want to discuss this game.

The loss against Argentina was since Bogut went off after half time with ankle injury after they were leading by 19 pts, they lost against Croatia in some real tight games and this loss being the smallest any team has come against the US so far. This game has actually made me realise how far Australia has come and I think now they will be the sleeping dog as if we read all the posts to date they have been rated as a non contender for medals, but maybe, maybe they can actually get to final 4.

PS: I got sick of the commentators saying in this game how bored they thought the US players were in the game. Wake up you were truly challenged here without Australias Bogut.

In short: BEWARE Australia do not take them lightly.
Were you watching the American feed on this game? Because they were talking quite a bit about the deficiencies of Team USA in this game. Franschilla is always talking about how much better the Spanish and Greek teams play than the teams we are playing now and Team USA should be concerned.

Would probably have to agree with this statement. Though as individuals they were just that good that the concept of working as a team never had to apply for them.

This current US team can't afford the same luxury. Really looking forward to seeing how they matchup to Greece and Spain.

Man them comentators were annoying. I would rather watch another TV feed in a dif language but couldn't find anything in better quality. Anyways both Greece and Spain are looking prime for topping Group B at the moment but it isn't a good idea to be too overly confident at this point. I hope the US team goes into the OC with a new percecption now.

As for the moving pick, it is not so often called in "international" play. Why? I don't know. But it's not, same as the "half-step" isn't called in NBA.

But since this tournament is played by FIBA rules, the "half-step" should be called and the moving pick should be allowed for all, as in all tournaments.

You see it is USA vs 213 international federations. So I guess we will play the game OUR way. If you don't like it, you can start sending NCAA players again.

So hypocrtical, call the half step not the moving pick.

Let me rephrase your statement for you:

From my perspective, Australia played very well. They obviously had a specific game plan and stuck to it very well. They hit some very diffcult shots and the guards attacked the rim much better than I had expected. I had seen the Mills kid at St. Mary's and he played well above what I had seen of him previously. The ball pressure by the Australians was excellent as was the team defense, a lot of balls were slapped away, deflections, etc. That was by far the best I have seen them play, certainly the most complete game.

The US played very mediocre for the second game in a row. The thing that bothered me the most in this game was poor face up defense, waaaayyy too many times getting beat off the dribble. With the athleticism of this group that should not happen nearly as often as it does (That means you Chris Paul). Shooting was atrocious as well. Not necessarily from the 3 point line, that will happen. I mean free throws. Nothing shows a lack of focus more than free throws, which were horrible today.

Hopefully, the focus will be better in Beijing. I can't imagine it won't be. It could be just a matter of not playing well in a certain arena, that happens as well. So, maybe getting out of Shanghai will help. Who knows. I gues we will find out soon.

Well, next international tournament all 213 international federations will play as you want so you will be happy.

It is as open minded as the English saying that all the world should on the left side of the road, just because they do. I'm sorry mate, it's not about right or wrong, it's about how things are in the rest of the world. If you want to be part of it, you'll have to adjust, not the world to you...

wow wade was hot, best player today in my opinion, he's scored everytime he went into, definetly he's in good shape. And wtf s up with melo? he's failing and failing, anyway good game to watch, it was close so it was entertaining. To me it seems like teams are getting how to annul us game, and if coach k doesn't have a plan b, they'll end fighting for bronze

Yes I did watch the ESPN feed via the online broadcast that I posted below. The only deficiencies I picked up from the commentators were that the US has not called a timeout and that the need to. Then finally they called their first timeout in all the games they have played thus far.

Yes there was mention of the "elite" teams Greece, Spain and Argentina and maybe a comment that they need to prepare for them but I didnt hear him put them above the US team.

I personally did not hear much crtisicism on the US team and found it a bit more of "look how great this team is" type commentating. Example like is Redd the best shooter in the world? Isnt Kobe the #1 Time athlete of the year etc

Aren't we a part of that 213 international federations (FIBA Americas) Your world, my world, who is the part of who's world. I guess you to have to live with us, were here to stay. The last time I checked, the north America continent is still a part of this world
