What happened to Choi Bu Yung? How come there's a new head coach? Last I checked, Choi did a good job leading Korea to a top 3 finish.

And what about Ha Seung Jin? He almost didn't play in the second game. This is unbelievable, Korea is definitely relying on a 7'4" and a 6'9" center.

SoKor suffered almost the same fate 6 years ago in 02 Asian games were the RP team was beaten in the last seconds of the game by lee sang min. that game is one of the best asian games basketball in history.

Now the SoKor feels the same way RP feels 6 years ago. Now the SoKor knows why RP team is eager to defeat the koreans.

Yes, considering the circumstances Korea did quite well. A bit disappoing though, I was expecting a win over a European/American team. Although clearly they wouldn't have advanced to the Olympics anyway. Imagine if they had Bang Sung Yoon, Kim Seung Hyun, Lee Kyu Sup and Yang Dong Gyeun, and a healthy Ha Seung Jin they definitely could have beaten Canada. This Korean team has 5 players who have not played 1 minute of KBL and 4 KBL rookies. Very young and inexperienced. The future is bright for Korea though, also with Kim Jin Soo in the NCAA and all.

Why that? I think from all underdogs in the tournament S. Korea showed the best performance. Your coach and your team should be proud about they way they represented their country!

Canadian National Team crafted a spectacular comeback effort just hour ago to stay alive in the race for the Olympic birth. South Korea put up a fierce fight against Canada and put them on brink of losing it all. The teams entered the game having lost their first games and must win to remain in the contention. Korea jumped to an early 7:2 lead but Canada stayed alert and surged ahead after Carl English (192-G-81, college: Hawaii) and Rowan Barrett (197-G/F-72, college: St.John's) nailed back-to-back treys. Kim Joo-Sung (205-C-79) scored 4 points and Jeon Jung-Gyu (188-G-83) added two freebies to tie the scoreline at 20 at the end of the first period. However the Korean team went on a 12:2 run at the start of the second frame to grab a comfortable lead. Jeon Jung-Gyu and Joo-sung Kim capped the second frame with 10 straight points and Korea held to a 49:33 advantage at halftime. Jung Young-Sam (188-G/F-84) stretched the gap to 18 points early in the third quarter. But Canada refused to surrender. Joel Anthony and Rowan Barrett ignited a comeback effort that resulted in Korea leading by just 5 points at the end of the stanza. Rowan Barrett and Jermaine Anderson (185-G-83) hit back-to-back trebles to put Canada in charge 78:77 with 34 seconds left. Joo-sung Kim missed a jumper and Jermaine Anderson sealed the winning outcome from charity stripe. Rowan Barrett led the winners with 22 points. Jermaine Anderson had 17 points, while Carl English added 12 for Canada. Jeon Jung-Gyu answered with 19 points for South Korea. Jung Young-Sam had 13 points in defeat. Canada will now face either Croatia or Puerto Rico in the quarterfinal.
