Angola name preliminary World Cup roster

Head coach of Angola national team, Paulo Macedo, has announced a provisional 15-man squad for the 2014 FIBA World Cup in Spain. African champions will miss only two players who have won gold medal at 2013 AfroBasket. Leonel Paulo (197-F-89) is injured and legendary national team captain Carlos Almeida has retired earlier this year at the age of 37.
22-year-old Southern Methodist University student, Yanick Moreira (211-C-91), should make his debut for senior national team. American-born Reggie Moore had successful debut at 2013 AfroBasket and could play at World Cup with his adopted country. Angola will play in Gran Canaria's Group D along with Lithuania, Slovenia, Mexico, South Korea and Australia.
