I would have reaplaced pau gasol for boris diaw or valanciunas.
I would not have included Pau at all.
I am not saying that Valanciunas should had been included ,with some reservation at that ,but Boris was good in this tournament.
Just a token to Spaniards ,the token that was completely unnecessary and undeserved .Kristic or Radulovic? How 'bout them?
FIBA, pfff ...
And let that be a lesson to you all. Nobody beats Zalgiris 17 times in a row.

Valanciunas efficiency was 19.8. He was pretty much the main reason why Lithuania playing without a PG managed to get to the final 4. Davis efficiency was 17.0, and Farrieds 17.6. All are great bigs. Gasols efficiency was 21.7 so at least based on efficiency it wasnt so strange choice. Still, why not go with Blatche or Haddadi then? Weird...

Spain had the second best record in the tournament - Iran and the Philippines won one game.
Pau Gasol is not comparable to Boris Diaw, Valancinas or someone else. He's been the best PF in Fiba tournaments since 2001 Euro Champ. These names never dominated like him. He deserved to be in the stage. Unfortunately, I don't see anyone who is able to replace Pau Gasol in new generations. It's very sad for Euro bball.
Pau Gasol is a difference-maker super star in Europe. Boris Diaw is very very smart player but not a superstar. Valanciunas is very solid but Pau was still superstar at his age( remember 2003, 26 ppg). That choice was very good, I appreciate Fiba
I'm not sure Kyrie Irving deserves to be on that team. He had a total of one good game, and even though it was the finals it was an incredibly easy win against an opponent that didn't show up.
