    • Notes from training camp:

      1. Lee Seung-Hyun is impressive and he really wants to be part of the final 12. He is very competitive with taller players like Jang Jae-Seok and KU teammate Lee Jong-Hyun based on 5-5 and 3-3 scrimmages. Lee has shown an improved range to Yoo Jae-Hak and improved his stamina based on the sprinting and fast break sets.

      2. Yoo Jae-Hak is focusing on defense based on the world cup and has asked Lee Jong-Hyun to be the anchor of the defense in referencing to his wingspan and improved timing. Yoo Jae-Hak also stated that Lee will be utilized a lot more on both ends of the floor.

      3. Based on the full-court press and half-court trap drills on the videos, Kim Tae-Sol and Kim Min-Goo are the best tandem as both will be teammates with KCC next season. They are using this experience also to get a headstart. Both are steals leaders in the KBL.

      4. Jang Jae-Seok is showing similar skillset to Kim Jong-Kyu and both have been playing against one another based on 5-5 and 3-3 scrimmages. Both can play C and PF.

      5. Kim Joo-Sung confirmed that this is his last Asian Games as he started with the 1998 Bangkok Asiad. Kim said that next year might be his last to suit up for the national team, in reference to the 2015 FIBA Asia.

      6. Lee Dae-Sung and Cho Sung-Min are given special drills on improving coordination and been practicing with flare and pindown catch-and-shoot situations.

      • Moon Tae-Jong began practicing with the team this week and mostly on the 3-3 and 5-5 scrimmages as he was always paired with Cho Sung-Min. Moon under Yoo Jae-Hak is being oriented as an active screener and a pin down man for those 1-5 ice sets / 2 corner flares that often folds back into a shooter opportunity in Yoo's misdirection takes.

        • Oh Se-Keun and Choi Jin-Soo from the army have joined the training camp yesterday. Unlike Moon Tae-Jong who had to pass a medical test, both were not required as their recent health records were passed by the armed forces. Yoo Jae-Hak said in an interview with Koball, that he expects Se-Keun to play C and PF while Choi as an SF and PF.

          --------------------------------------------------------------

Choi is too soft to be playing PF but he does give the SF spot another tall and lanky body.

          • Kim Min-Goo figured in a car accident and was taken to the hospital by an ambulance for emergency treatment. Aside from a pelvic bruise and perhaps a concussion, but X-rays and CT scans are lined up later. Yoo Jae-Hak said that Kim is excused from training this weekend until he gets the clean medical green light.

According to KCC's twitter fans, Kim swerved as a speeding truck was trying to cut him and his car ended up ramming by another truck coming up.

He should ask someone who is not drinking to accompany him to his house.

                      • Kim Min-Goo's untimely mishap leaves a backup for Cho Sung-Min wide open. Yoo Jae-Hak could make Lee Dae-Sung as a shoo-in but he does lack that uncanny ability of Min-Goo to score on a variety of ways as Dae-Sung is more of a spot-up shooter. Rumors starting to swirl that Yoo Jae-Hak is planning to call up Moon Seong-Gon of Korea University back. At this point, Moon despite being in last year's FIBA Asia has not showcased his ability as there is still doubt about his performance and whether he can fill the void left by Min-Goo.

Moon Seong-Gon is a streaky shooter with a quick step and can finish using side-steps and contorting layup. But Min-Goo is much quicker and more athletic.

                        Training camp squad currently:

                        Kim Sun-Hyung (Seoul SK Knights)
                        Kim Tae-Sol (Anyang KGC)
                        Yang Dong-Geun (Ulsan Mobis Phoebus)
                        Lee Dae-Sung (Ulsan Mobis Phoebus)
                        Cho Sung-Min (Busan Sonicboom KT)
                        Kim Joo-Sung (Wonju Dongbu Promy)
                        Yoon Ho-Young (Wonju Dongbu Promy)
                        Moon Tae-Jong (LG Sakers)
                        Lee Seung-Hyun (Korea University)
                        Choi Joon-Young (Yonsei University)
                        Choi Jin-Soo (Goyang Orions)

                        • With Kim Min-Goo decommissioned and Lee Dae-Sung on and off practice with persistent pain on his ankle, Yoo Jae-Hak's request of adding Park Chan-Hee was approved by the national selection committee.

                          Kim Sun-Hyung (Seoul SK Knights)
                          Kim Tae-Sol (Jeonju KCC Egis)
                          Yang Dong-Geun (Ulsan Mobis Phoebus)
                          Park Chan-Hee (Anyang KGC)
                          Lee Dae-Sung (Ulsan Mobis Phoebus)
                          Cho Sung-Min (Busan Sonicboom KT)
                          Kim Joo-Sung (Wonju Dongbu Promy)
                          Yoon Ho-Young (Wonju Dongbu Promy)
                          Moon Tae-Jong (LG Sakers)
                          Lee Seung-Hyun (Korea University)
                          Choi Joon-Young (Yonsei University)
                          Choi Jin-Soo (Goyang Orions)
                          Kim Jong-Kyu (LG Sakers)
                          Lee Jong-Hyun (Korea University)
                          Oh Se-Keun (Anyang KGC)
                          Jang Jae-Seok (Goyang Orions)

Lee Dae-Sung is still with the active team but if he is not making any recovery, he will be dropped by the end of this month according to reports. Lee should be rested and not forced. This on and off is a sign that Lee is not recovering but is regressing to the point of aggravation. Yoo Jae-Hak has been stubborn and playing favoritism.

                          • Anyang KGC's Yang Hee-Jong was called back to the national team training camp as Yoon Ho-Young is out due to a swollen right toe with infection. Yang has been a member of the national team since 2006 but last year, was not selected due to injuries.

                            Kim Sun-Hyung (Seoul SK Knights)
                            Yang Dong-Geun (Ulsan Mobis Phoebus)

Kim Min-Goo is unlikely to rejoin after that accident. Lee Dae-Sung, Yoon Ho-Young and Kim Tae-Sol are out but not excluded due to injuries.

                            • Kim Min-Goo went under the knife and doctors found damage on his pelvic bone near the ball and socket that connects the femur. This puts his basketball career at serious jeopardy and it is something that will be determined in the coming months by specialists.

In response of this incident, federation had prohibited alcohol consumption for any members of the Asian Games athletes and for the basketball team, there will be a curfew. For college players like Lee Seung-Hyun, Lee Jong-Hyun and Choi Joon-Young they were assigned a "big brother" guardian.
